im not going to wish Scroggins the worst of luck. but i wont wish him the best of luck either. point in case: he is not a vol. he will never clad the orange and white or the power T. he will never be associated with the likes of Manning. he will never run through the T, celebrate to Rocky Top, take part in the Vol walk, or play in front of 100,000 fans, clad in orange screeming his name playing in the best conference in the country.
he was given an oppurtunity so few earn. he was given an oppurtunity many would give the world for. no, UT is not what it once was, but no matter how far we have fallen, there are teams out there that sincerely fear the rise of UT again. Scroggins had the chance to be a part of that, to make it happen.
if he does well at SC then thats fantastic for him and his family and all his dreams will have come true. i personally, owe him nothing.
For picking a team with so much depth at quarterback... I honestly won't feel bad for Scroggins if he never sees the field. His family is hurting on money and he picks the school where he will get one year at most to showcase himself to the NFL. The funny thing, USC will probably get a five star quarterback next year and Scroggins will be screwed.
Honestly, I know he is just a kid but if he isn't smart enough to realize he may never see the field at USC and picks them anyways... did we really want this kid make decisions at quarterback for us?
I am still going to watch ESPN today or check online following but at this point I don't even care about UT not getting him if that's the case. Tennessee will land a quarterback next year after Tennessee wins 8 or 9 games and Kiffin shows the quarterbacks that even Crompton looks good in his system.
Mods should close this or it will be a trash fest. And what if we are still going after this kid.
This would've been a huge dig to uproot this guy from USC's backyard (20 min from campus) and childhood fan.He may believe that, but I don't. It might be a good thing he's making a big deal out of this announcement, because that might be the only publicity he ever gets signing with USC.

As for his future, Cassel sat 4+ years in college (another 3 or so in NFL) and recently signed a 6 yr $63 M contract; Mark Sanchez sat 3 years and started one - 5th pick overall $$$; Matt Leinart, Carson Palmer?
His future appears to be bright, IMO.
Good Luck to him.
Exactly.
