Not to knock on this kid but I watched that elite 11 tv show and my goodness this kid is ridiculously skinny. They showed all of the kids playing bball with no shirts on and you could see all of his ribs. He needs some chocolate milk lol

If our coaching staff has a weak point it is at the QB position, and until we actually put someone in the NFL, it is going to be a hard sell to get a top-flight recruit to take a chance on us.

So just because Kiffin wasn't the QB coach you think he never coached up the QBs? That's stupid. What the hell does it matter if Kiffin never played at Fresno? With your logic you would rather Ryan Leaf coach your QB than Lane Kiffin. I don't think so...nice try though.

Again, Kiffin coached receivers, not QBs. I guess somehow in your flawed imagination when Kiffin wasn't busy with the WRs he sent Sarkisian out for coffee and coached QBs. Sarkisian should get credit for doing his job, which was the QB coach. What basis do you have to attribute Sarkisian's work to Kiffin?

Again, the 4 QBs you keep referring to were coached by Sarkisian and Olson, not Kiffin and Chaney.

By all accounts I have heard, Kiffin and Sarkisian shared playcalling duties with Carroll having final say.

If Kiffin is everything your imagination makes him out to be, then why did the Raiders offer the HC job to Sarkisian first?

Kiffin played quarterback at Fresno State for three seasons (1994-96), where his position coach was current California head coach Jeff Tedford. Kiffin began his coaching career at his alma mater as a student assistant, working parts of two seasons with quarterbacks, wide receivers and defensive backs.

I stated no one on this staff has played QB in Div I and no one on this staff has played QB in Div I, yet somehow in your mind this is a factually inaccurate statement? Kiffin was so far down the depth chart that he left the team as a player in his senior year to become a student coach. If you want to prove Kiffin played DI ball, dig up his stats from his college career, that should be simple enough. If you can't manage that then you are the one who doesn't understand the text on your screen.

You didn't even know he was on a roster until I brought it up. You just started talking without knowing what you were talking about.

Then when I pointed it out, you wanted to wiggle out of it. You are just grasping for straws.

Your original argument was CRAP, period.

We have 3 coaches on this staff that were head coaches at the highest level of college football. We have two former offensive coordinators and yet you wanted to complain that we only have one certified QBs coach in David Reaves. And that is a horrible argument.

Head coaches and coordinators make the big bucks for a reason---more responsibility and more vital to the success of a team than the QBs coach!

Mitch Browning was a QB coach for a few years at Kent State.
Kiffin was a college QB at Fresno State and was the Passing Game Coordinator for a few years at USC
Chaney has coached QBs before as well

Alright VolDaddy, let me simplify this thing called the recruiting process for you. Every school has to sell its advantages to the recruit. Let's say Bray is down to SDSU and Tenn. Tenn is going to sell the fact that it has the better staff, better facilities, plays in the the better conference. SDSU is going to sell the proximity to home, the Cali lifestyle and that Bray's QB coach at SDSU is better than Tenn's QB coach. A QB coach that has played at a high level in the NFL is a better selling point than a QB coach that only played D IAA ball. If you don't believe this, try reversing the situation- If Tenn had a QB coach with 10 years NFL experience and SDSU had the QB coach that had only played D IAA ball, would you be on here saying that SDSU had the advantage in selling that coach to the recruit? Hell no.

As for Cutcliffe, if Duke were to recruit Bray, Cutcliffe has several great selling points- he's coached two number 1 picks in the draft, two Super Bowl winning QBs, and coached several overall QBs to the NFL. Cutcliffe even though he never played college or pro football has earned his rep as a high quality QB coach, has Reaves done that? Again, hell no.

We have a great overall staff, but our weakest link so to speak is at QB coach. Until Tenn proves it can put QBs into the NFL a lot of teams we recruit against will have an advantage. This is especially true with West Coast QB recruits because of all the quality QB coaches on that coast- Tedford at Cal, Chow at UCLA, Sarkisian at UW, Kelly at Oregon, even Bates at USC is a better sell because he has coached QBs in the NFL for the last four years.

Now who is grasping at straws, I know what Kiffin has done in his career. I live out west, every BSU fan I know was giving me crap about Tenn interviewing a Fresno punk for our HC job.

Where have I argued that OC aren't involved with QBs? My point for 20th time is that SDSU has a better QB coach to sell to a recruit than we do, and guess what, it's true. While we have coaches who have "coached at the highest level of college football" SDSU has a QB coach that has successfully played at the highest level of PRO football. Advantage SDSU on this point.

Chaney coaches OL and TE, Greg Olson and Blaine Bennett were the QB coaches at Purdue. I'm not saying that no coach on this staff has ever seen a forward pass before, I'm saying having a NFL MVP as your QB coach is a better selling point than not having one.

Pay close attention to the following statement, for 28th time, we are comparing SDSU's QB coach to our QB coach, not our staff compared to SDSU's QB coach. Why is this so difficult for you to follow?
