Eh - he's talking out of high school - yeah - it's a hilarious statement when considering his college career so far (although doing well this year against average teams)... but makes sense based on his hype in high school.

sadly it's probably not even the most ignorant thing he's said this week.

Bburger doesn't always say the smartest stuff but don't rag gim about it think what he means is barkley is the highest rated QB prospect since clausen.

Jimmy Clausen was pretty much considered to be one of the best HS QB recruits ever. What he's done in college doesn't change his status back then.

Since then, Barkley is the only guy whos been anywhere close to the hype, status, ..etc

Even in this class, Bray isn't close to that. No one in this class is, but the guys like Heaps, Gardner, Bell, Scroggins, ..etc are closer to it than he is.

That's the way I took it. Actually,I was impressed with Barkleys play (for a true fresh) in the OSU game.

Oh and I like the comment that says that #22 is the best because of the interception. It was blatant pass interference. He pushed off the wide receiver and the wide receiver even fell over. How there wasn't a flag is beyond me. But pass interfering for an int is the best! :p

Because his size, arm strength, and descision making I am going to say he is a combination of Eric Ainge and Peyton Manning. All the articles I read on this kid lead to the assumption that he is going to be a great QB in this system. Only draw back is they say he runs a 5+ 40. I dont think that is true though because he does run some option type plays and roles out of the pocket on other plays. I think maybe a 4.6 or 4.7 40. Now with that out of the way. With Tyler Bray at QB and with this coaching staff. Is he the missing piece to this team. I think UT can be a 10+ win team with this kid at QB. I think we have enough weapons left over from Phil, the last recruit class, and with this class coming in to be that good next year. The kid can make all the throws from what I read and hear about him. I just want to get everyone elses feedback. Maybe if they know stuff other then what is wriiten. We dont get alot of news from Cali recruits in GA.

I personally think we should let him get here and learn the system, build a relationship with players like Marsalis Teague, Nu'keese, Zach Rogers, Markeith Ambles, etc. before we compare and crown him. I think he has a LOT of potential. I think he has nearly a 100% chance of giving us better play than we've gotten out of this position for the last two years.

I just think anyone expecting Heisman numbers should probably relax a little bit, bring the expectations down a few notches, and just be thankful that we landed a solid QB for our system in this class.

I pray this to be true, but you can never tell how these kids will pan out, just look at JC.

I am not expecting Heisman numbers and I think you are right we cant put to much on him as far as pressure and hopes. I am comparing him to those guys by which he plays the game in high school. His freshman year I am saying it would be like Ainge and Brent S. he will make mistakes, but the team and fan base will actually feel as if UT has a shot. Ainge beat FL., UGA., and Alabama in his freshman season. I think Bray might be the same type of player.

What do you mean by that. I am asking because I really dont know. Was there something wriiten or are you making an assumption.

Sarcasm. Folks like UT#1 claim that we are not playing NS because top QB recruits like Bray would be afraid to compete with him.
