'10 CA S Dion Bailey

That's pretty embarrassing.... to spell sergeant wrong AND use poor punctuation in a post calling someone else out for spelling.

FTR, there should be no comma in front of "but".
Yes embarrassing is the word, that's what I get. On another note, it seems like it's beginning to look better with us & Bailey.

6-foot-1, 195-pound safety Dion Bailey showed great instincts while patrolling the Lakewood secondary. Bailey informed us that he will make his college choice this coming week at the Nike 7-on-7 Passing Tournament in Beaverton, Oregon. Bailey will choose between the rival USC Trojans and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

I am reading into that as being very telling. I think Bailey and Scroggins are all USC. How is Notre Dame getting all of this recruiting publicity and recruits this year. I absolutely hate Notre Dame. They seem to be on a lot of kids radar this year.

That's all but it for our hopes of landing Scroggins. Bailey isn't going to go to Notre Dame without having seen them. Surprised we didn't make the final cut, but to me, that means that Jesse isn't coming here.

they are on a lot of kids radar every year.

I don't care how you slice it and you can point out the lack of talent out there this year, but our QB recruiting ever since Kiffin first arrived here has been atrocious. Make excuses all you want, but all that matters is results.

Yeah, it just seems like a major hurtle for them. I wonder if it because of the divide that I have heard on here about which coach wants who as QB and then not having a clear approach to landing a QB

Little early to be saying that.

LOL Sab. Some schools never get a big time QB. You are really jumping the gun. You are upset because you feel we lost Scroggins. He has done an excellent job getting in these guys ears. We were 5-7. We have a lack of playmakers on O. He has been filling those spots. We still have a lock of O lineman. He is unproven as a HC. Your theory and judgment on Kiffin is in no way accurate in my mind. We do not need a bunch of commits from guys who cannot play. We have Lamaison coming. We need to land one in this class maybe two. The tactic to make every attempt to get top talent before other options is solid. At least wait until after the announcement to go all finger pointing. I would wait until after signing day if I were you. JMO:hi:

You think? It's not like we didn't have a chance to land a top prospect last year and blew it dependent on landing one this year. If that doesn't come to fruition I would call it a failure at least in the short term.

Yeah we can't really afford to keep pushing to the next year to find a QB and just rely on JUCOs or sub-par high school QBs

I just think it's a bit early to say we aren't going to land a good QB because some safety that said he isn't going to base his decision on where his teammate goes appears to have a couple of schools in front of us.

The only thing that matters is performance on the field. If Crompton looks decent this year, we'll get our QB this year. It's July.

Also, I don't care if we ever sign a big time QB. It's hard to call them a failure before you've seen their QBs play a down.

We aren't some schools. We are Ten-uh-see. I am upset because we have missed on every single prospect we have gone after up until this point. Scroggins has little to do with it. Funny that you mention we don't need commits from guys that can't play and then you bring up Lamaison. A guy that we would never be bringing in if not for a desperate need for a warm body.

The tactic, is not working. Whatever it is. Now we will be depending on landing a top QB in next year's class rather than this one. That is a precarious position to be in.

You guys can look at it through orange-colored glasses all you want, but facts are facts. Winning is directly proportional to recruiting in this league. We are not other schools, we are Tennessee and we play in the toughest conference around. Every other school is playing with a highly regarded QB, even South Carolina. We are depending in guys that no one else wants.

Good key words you used here "If Crompton looks decent this year...." :eek:lol:

Jake Heaps chose BYU. Blake Bell was over before it started. If Rees is that important to the coaches, he's not lost yet. Scroggins hasn't decided on the Trojans at this point, either.

Just hope with some miracle Scroggins commits to UT and Bailey decided to go to USC on his own afterall...highly unlikely

The only guy that we will have a serious shot at getting to decommit is Brunetti and he has repeatedly said that he is 100% solid to WVU. I don't think we can overcome enough to get him to decommit. This isn't a Nu'keese Richardson situation. These guys aren't going to be seeing something completely new after already committing elsewhere.
