Again, what else would you expect him to say? Provide examples.

Sab, what are you talking about? You are basing an argument on what you feel was going on in a guys head when he spoke. Examples of what? MRIs while a recruit is being interviewed so we can compare brain functions while making statements?:p

Just saw your edit: this is the question Scroggins was asked if the future quarterback depth at USC was an issue he was concerned about? unless you have different source. Anything we say about why he said it was not a concern is guessing maybe an educated one but guessing.

Dude. Why is this such a difficult concept to you? Just answer the question. What else would Jesse Scroggins say to that question other than what he said? It's not rocket surgery. Put up or shut up.

Less Caffeine more Water...He could say yeah they got a lot of great QBs there. I will have to see how I fit in with that. He could say lots of things. I do not know why you are so up in arms on this. :eek:hmy:

You said I was manipulating facts to support an argument and you don't know why I would take issue with that?

All I said was that you should bear in mind every time he has talked about not being afraid of competition it has been in response to a question about USC's depth chart. He's never going to say that competition concerns him. You guys are acting like somehow not being afraid of competition means he is going to end up at USC. That's what is a reach.

I said yesterday that this is a tossup between SC and us right now. It could go either way. Although I do think we are favored in a tossup due to our depth chart. Just because you may want the spotlight on you doesn't necessarily mean you are afraid of competition.

I apologize if I offended you with the wording "manipulated" a better phrasing is probably rationalizing. I was not trying to say you in any way were doing something purposeful to mislead others. :hi:

What were Raw's comments?

Hey guys the Lakewood connection I really think wants to stay together -- Childhood friends -- I belive all want to play as freshman --- Tennessee gives them the best shot as freshman to start!!! Rumor has it that Bailey will be at UT around the first weekend in August -- I hope so --- that connection would give UT along with our other recruits a shot at the SEC --- what do all of you think?
.

Yeah right after USC camp Jesse was saying Depth chart was not a big deal to him. I remember the quotes. He has changed his story back now that the emotion of the offer has warn off. UF would be the best school if it is academics then USC then US. Tradition depends on what he means. If he means all time then us then USC but if he means recent it is USC and UF. Not much to go on really. I will say UF it is what my gut says. Or I had a vision of Rettig vs. Scroggins match ups in the future while sitting on the toilet. Where did our prophet go?

???? Florida is not as strong as USC academically, and neither UT nor Florida have the long-term football tradition that USC has.

Your point re: academics is debatable. I still go with UF. The fact is UT is for sure third. UF has top ten to top five in national merit scholars in the nation. It is on par with getting into near ivy league level out of state. In state is another story. US News does rank USC higher but in the same tier. Mainly do to the fact instate UF has a greater acceptance rate by far. Us News takes acceptance rates as one of its main determining factors. UF's out of state students are superior candidates then most anyone that goes to USC. If I got a few truly "gifted" kids in a room and said UF or USC. At least two would pick UF as the better school.

Again UT to USC debatable it is close. Edge USC but it is real close if you go check the stats they both got real good for the first time in the 1920s. 26 bowl wins to their 31. Basically this decade has given them that edge. So yeah after research I was incorrect on that one thanks for staying on top of it.:good!:

These things aren't really debatable. Virtually all rankings of colleges and universities have USC ranked above Florida, not just U.S. News and World Report. Florida is strong academically. USC is stronger.

USC's football program has 9 National Championships. Whether or not they have a superior long-term football tradition than UT is not debatable.

If you say so. I mean I know you wish you decided right and wrong. And from my time on this board you are certainly a black and white vision type of guy.

But unfortunate for you we do in fact debate things. For example we have 6 NC or maybe 14 depending on what polls you use. So if you go before this decade all these number become real close like almost an exact tie. Now here is where you respond in some conclusory fashion and possibly say something insulting. :hi:

FYI:

As of the 2007-2008 academic year, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Florida</st1:place></st1:State> ranked twelfth among all institutions in the number of new National Merit Scholar students enrolled.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
At USC, there were also 220 National Merit Scholar winners and 5 National Achievement Scholars in the admitted class. USC ranks among the top five schools in the nation in terms of its enrollment of National Merit Scholars.

Also, USC claims 11 National Championships in football. 2 of them are debated, and I therefore I ignored them. I defy you to show me any source that claims 14 National Championships (or even close to 14 National Championships) for UT. You're making up things to try to support an argument for which you have no valid basis. We are not Alabama. We don't claim National Championships because our head coaches' wife ranked us as the #1 team at the end of the season.

Are you a Vol fan?

Yes, but unlike many delusional fans here, I don't make ridiculous arguments without any factual basis to try to glorify the team that I follow or the conference in which they compete. As I stated before, the University of Florida is very highly ranked academically. It is not, however, as highly ranked as USC, and that is a fact.

Yes they have jumped them for one year in 2004, 2005, 2006 the places were reversed. See this is debating. I didn't make up anything. I mean are you saying I created this College Rankings - Home

Here is a site that ranks schools on different basis. You pick it is dead even btw in the 6 ways you can rank. USC has the edge in SAT, acceptance rate, and kids in top 10 percent. UF has the edge in the two faculty rankings and in National Merit Scholars(as they do most years).

So the tie breaker is the fact UF has freshmen classes the size of 6600 and USC 3500. So if you compare the top 3500 at UF to USC then USC gets dominated. And considering objective parties agree UF has better faculty it becomes more clear where you go to get a better education. For example 85 percent of USC kids are in top 10 percent in high school. That is about 2975 of their kids per class. 81 percent at UF. That is about 5346 kids. So UF has about 2350 more rockstar kids each year. Wow man it is so clear cut. If we did the same logical operation on SAT scores well you would find USC kids do not touch the top tier UF kids.

To your point re: NC. Who decides what poll to count? I used wiki go look yourself. We have 6 generally accepted ones and 8 disputed. I mean in those 8 years I would bet we were undefeated. So who says we were not the best? This is called a debate. You do not decide which facts are relevant. In fact in the end it is all our opinions on some things. Even if every "gifted" kid I have taught would call UF a better school.

All in good fun btw:)

EDIT: in response to more recent post is it still a fact?:birgits_giggle:
