'10 CA S Dion Bailey

We aren't some schools. We are Ten-uh-see. I am upset because we have missed on every single prospect we have gone after up until this point. Scroggins has little to do with it. Funny that you mention we don't need commits from guys that can't play and then you bring up Lamaison. A guy that we would never be bringing in if not for a desperate need for a warm body.

The tactic, is not working. Whatever it is. Now we will be depending on landing a top QB in next year's class rather than this one. That is a precarious position to be in.

You guys can look at it through orange-colored glasses all you want, but facts are facts. Winning is directly proportional to recruiting in this league. We are not other schools, we are Tennessee and we play in the toughest conference around. Every other school is playing with a highly regarded QB, even South Carolina. We are depending in guys that no one else wants.

Just WOW Sab. Our guys are getting an A plus in recruiting right now. You are way off. You can say we are Tennessee all you want. We have been a bad to average team for near a decade. Fulmer has failed to recruit properly for the past few years. He left us in a desperate spot for O-linemen and WRs and DTs and QBs and LBs. So this is a big task. I have no idea what this theory you have convinced yourself of but you are not a person in the know. You do not know what they think or are doing. You are a passionate smart guy who enjoys obsessing about recruiting.

We have gone out gotten top notch DBs, DTs, DEs, one solid O line commit, One solid WR commit a couple other good ones. We got the best RB in that nation. I mean seriously. Call Kiffin out for recruiting it is like saying a dolphin can't swim. :zeitung_lesen:

The only guy that we will have a serious shot at getting to decommit is Brunetti and he has repeatedly said that he is 100% solid to WVU. I don't think we can overcome enough to get him to decommit. This isn't a Nu'keese Richardson situation. These guys aren't going to be seeing something completely new after already committing elsewhere.

How about the product on the field?

Just hope with some miracle Scroggins commits to UT and Bailey decided to go to USC on his own afterall...highly unlikely

He might pick ND.

"I'm willing to travel," Bailey said. "I want to get away and grow up really."

He might have playing with Scroggins as a low priority.

"We're not going to base our decisions off of going to the same school, but it's definitely something that's been brought up quite a few times. It's something that has been considered between us and our parents, but we're just looking to see what schools fit us best individually, and if that happens to be the same school, then great."

Yeah I think we waited too long here. It is harder to get QBs to decommit since they are helping with recruiting for their schools

I hope it's not dependent on that, because I'm not sure a 7 win offense will be enough to convince anybody. That's our ceiling IMO.

A 7 win offense that competes with FL and UGA will look a lot better than anything they can show them right now.

Yeah but Bailey said he wanted to see some schools before making a decision. How can USC and Notre Dame be his top two if he has not been to ND

sounds to me like a young kid saying one thing to the media and another thing to coaches/schools.

He hasn't been to UT either and has stated that his top 3 was UT, ND, and USC. It can't be a case of telling the media something different than he tells his coaches. He's only seen one school and he is deciding before seeing those two other schools. Now he's saying it's down to USC and ND after saying he wanted to seeing the school before committing. I think it's pretty obvious where he is going to end up.

i'm saying the kid has made up his mind a long time ago and wanted to try and see the country before he committed. it's not looking like he's going to get to do that if he plans on announcing soon that he will stay home.

Exactly my point and the way I was seing that as well...

Throwing ND in there seems like nothing more than a bad attempt to create some suspense before his announcement. I think this means he is USC bound, and so is Scroggins. I'd love to be wrong, but that scenario just makes the most sense to me at this point.

It's JMO, but I think that Bailey's decision was contingent on Scroggins'. That's what you are seeing. Scroggins and Bailey have decided where they are going to attend college. I hope I'm wrong, but us not even making the top 2 for Bailey is very telling to me after the consensus has been for awhile that they are going to be playing together.

Maybe Scroggins was trying to convince Bailey to come. Thus the frown face lol today. Bailey has to know that unlike QB we have DBs and more coming. He may not have played for 3 years or so. None of us really know we will see.

Wow. That's a reach.

I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that both those players had positive things to say about UT and quite a few posters were eager to find reasons to declare Scroggins a UT lock.

Committing to USC - Put it down - I am done with this. i am sold now - Bailey and Scroggins to USC.

Unless they are creating more hoopla before their announcement to create more publicity, and will commit UT, I see no other alternative...

But they are USC - Can't beat the Trojan

No pun intended :eek:hmy:

"It's pretty much a main thing. We want to stay together. We don't want to go somewhere where we'll be alone. We want to be comfortable playing with someone we already know. Right now, I'd say we most likely will go to the same school."

"We talked about it, but we were there to have fun, not there to commit. We wanted to sleep on it. I haven't really talked to them about it, but we'll probably talk about it this week," explained Scroggins. "I really don't know when I want to make a decision, but we'll probably make a decision at the same time, since we all want to go to the same school."
