'10 CA S Dion Bailey

He's basically a younger version of Nnamdi Asomugha in terms of build and everything..

That's some high praise. Mike Shannahan said that "The Black Death" is the most underrated player that he has ever seen since he has been involved in the NFL. Just look at what Asomugha did against the top WRs in the NFL. If I'm not mistaken, through 6 or 7 games last season, Asomugha only had like 8 passes thrown his way. Think about that. That's not completions, that's just attempts. The guy is beyond nasty...

Asomugha only had 8 passes thrown his way, and gave up 2 completions for like 20 yards total against Tony Gonzales. That was it.

I'm not saying he's going to be as good as him or anything, I'm just saying that physically, they're basically the same thing. Tall corners who can jam you at the line, but have the ability to run with any WR in the game.

Loston may be the best safety in the class, but I'll take the best corner every time. Safeties in general are a lot easier to find than a true lockdown corner, especially in the Asomugha/Dre build.

The thing is true athletic playmakers at safety are hard to find. Either they are good at coverage and somewhat good at tackling or vice-versa. Loston has that Berry type of quality to him. Great at coverage but know exactly when to lay a player out. Also has great ability with the ball in his hands. Safeties with that type of skill are rare. Plus they are just as fast if not faster than most corners.

I will tell you what...just watched Janzen's vids again..that fella comes at the ball with authority....he is wreckless

Hey guys just throwing a thought out there... In addition to his physical skills and ability to play more than one position on the next level, maybe Jackson's knowledge of the game (his dad is a coach) COULD have been a deciding factor.

I hope Scroggins and Bailey commit at camp!

I wouldnt expect either to commit publicly until after the USC camp. I still like our chances with Scroggins though....it just makes too much sense, unless for some reason he doesnt like it here or the coaches. Thats always a possibility.

Will visit here the first week of August.

"My dad is from Chicago and his brother lives in Memphis and other family members have lived in Memphis," Bailey offered. "I have been to that part of the state before. I also know that Tennessee plays in the SEC, which is the best league in football. Coach (Lane) Kiffin is a great coach with college and pro experience and it's a school with great tradition."

Do you kno when he is gonna go to the USC camp?

Well sounds like both Scroggins and Bailey have family in in Tennessee I didn't know that.

I think that bids well for us. Certainly can't hurt our chances. Family came be an influence. Hopefully, they both talk and decide that UT is the best fit for both of them.

espn...

Coveted safety Dion Bailey previously named a top five of USC, UCLA, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Oklahoma for ESPN affiliate Web site DuckTerritory.com.

However, he recently told affiliate Web site WeAreSC.com, "I haven't completely narrowed it down to a top-5 or anything, but I have some favorites that I'm looking more into, like USC, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Cal... The schools that have the best of both worlds. They have great football programs and great academics. So I'm trying to learn more about the schools that have more of what I'm looking for."

Bailey also gave a timetable for his pledge, "I was planning on making my decision really before my senior season starts. Hopefully I'll be able to make that decision after I take my unofficial trips to the schools. It would make it easier for me to focus throughout the season. I won't have to worry about the availability at my position, the scholarship being taken by another kid that committed already. And I don't want any of the coaches to think that I'm big-timing them by holding out all the way until Signing Day. I want to go into my senior season knowing where I'm going to college and to go win a state championship in my senior year and be ready to go."

From a quote that I copied --- Yes I am his uncle that lives in Memphis and no I have no idea what his decision may be --- If I did I could not tell ---

Welcome to the board. Dion seems like a great kid with a great head on his shoulders. He would be a great addition to the team
