I posted this in another thread, but it can apply here too: Why are kids lining up to play D for the Dawgs? Their D-coordinator, Martinez, is not thought too highly of in Georgia. Plus, he led the Dawgs to the worst D in the SEC last year. He is on a short leash, and if they struggle anymore then he will likely be canned. So, why would anyone want to go play D at Georgia when Monte Kiffin and Ed Orgeron are in Knoxville? It honestly doesn't make any sense.

These kids need to see the product on the field. Alot of them actually don't know who O and Monte are, or at least how highly regarded they are.

A friend of mine who is a dawg fan said they can only take 21 this year. I don't remember his explanation but he usually has reliable info.

Too early to think some won't qualify, I'm perplexed with this one.. Richt probably told him if he doesn't commit now he wouldn't have an offer tomorrow.

“A lot of schools are still coming and I have been talking to Ohio State, Florida, and Tennessee about every week or every other week here lately,” said T.J. Stripling. “I just talked to Coach Carter from Florida a couple of days ago and me and Coach Orgeron always talk it up about Tennessee. Ohio State’s Coach Haynes and I talk as much as anyone and he is cool.”

“I am committed to Georgia, but I am still listening to other schools too,” said the four-star on Scout.com. “I am planning to visit Tennessee, Florida, and Ohio State for official visits. I will definitely visit Georgia too.”

Per Scout... We are killing it in GA...

It'll also help that their recruiting coordinator will be moving up to defensive coordinator at the end of the season, leaving someone else to do all of the work he did previously. He was pretty good too. Kiffin wanted him.

You really think they are going to name Garner DC? Wow. And I thought Willie Martinez was a bad DC choice. If Richt makes that move he's seriously digging himself in a huge hole IMO.

I agree on this completely. The rumor in dawgland is that Garner was promised the next crack at DC to keep him when Kiffin wanted him and Richt also pointed out that Kiffin would never make him DC (Monte, then 5 years later, Orgeron or someone else but definitely not Garner).

Willie Martinez may actually make Garner look good. I agree Garner will be in over his head and will not be a top flight DC, but he will also not freeze his LBs on play action for an entire game when it is clear after 1 quarter what we are doing.

We need Richt to hang around a couple more years. Let us really get a grip on recruiting in Ga first.
