Wasn't meant to be. You're the one throwing out personal attacks. Not to mention moving Eric Berry to linebacker, and changing Matt Elam's position and destination at your whim. Nevermind the people's opinion who have watched him play countless times in HS games and camps, interview, and write articles about the kid. No, no. You know what position he is based on..well, nothing. But I am stupid, and "scary."
Back to the subject, Matt Elam will in all likelihood be a safety. He plays safety and is being recruiting as such but programs with the tradition of FL and TN. He isn't moving to linebacker because a couple posters think he's "too big." John Lynch didn't run a 4.45 in his heyday, I can promise you that.
Elam seems wishy washy to begin with to me. Hes backing off Florida, which happens, but he goes to WVU and is suddenly a heavy WVU lean, and people goes as far as saying hes basically all WVU. Now he leaves here and hes a heavy UT lean, supposedly.
He has not publicly decommitted and still has a visit lined up for FSU, right? If he makes it out of that visit and is not gushing about them like his past two visits then I will be more optimistic. Excuse me for not jumping in and getting excited but recruiting rarely turns out the way you think it does with kids like this.
I dont know why, and hope I am wrong, but I almost see him still ending up a Gator. Until he comes out and publicly does something, hes a gator commit and lean. And even if he decommits this one is going to be interesting all the way till he signs.
A guy on VQ who claims to have sources says that Elam all but committed to us this weekend. So, I like the smoke out there but I'm not convinced.
Sorry but if you don't think it's a possibility that Elam could play linebacker then I don't know what to tell you. I never said he would but even LV believe's it's a possibility and LV usually has good info. If Elam ends up here at safety then we can probably kiss Riley goodbye. Elam, Jackson, Myles.... With all of the wide receivers, Meline or Cobbs are both capable of being moved over to safety as well. Most people believe it would be Meline. You think I am crazy for saying that Elam could play linebacker. I think you're crazy for assuming safety is the only position he will play because of his 40 time.
