'10 FL ATH Matt Elam

If that's what happened then it was a dumb move on Kiffin's part. It's not like the 2 recruits were here on separate weekends! Besides, I thought Riley was a FS recruit and Elam a SS/EB-hybrid recruit. Guess not. Still dumb move on Kiffin's part, if true.

I think its brilliant. He said you COULD be the next EB. We all know Kiff preaches competition and hard work. If either kid steps on the field thinking he is automatically the next EB without working as hard as EB does, he's sadly mistaken. COULD be. Key word for me. Saying both are talented enough, but have to want it.

I wouldn't buy into that rumor. Kiffin isn't dumb and he knows kids talk their visits. That is just Florida fans looking for some confidence in Elams commitment. They know it seems fishy too.

It now appears that four-star Matt Elam (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Dwyer) will uphold his commitment to Florida, the Palm Beach Post reports.

Elam, who recently visited Tennessee stated that he was favoring West Virginia, had a two-hour conversation with Urban Meyer and is now finished making visits and considering other programs.

He was concerned about the number of safeties committed for the Class of 2010, "I talked to (Meyer) a little. We talked about the safety situation and our relationship. I committed for a reason. I'm not going to back down. It's all Florida."

The kid just needed his ego stroked a little. Oh well. Moving on....

Meyer probably told him he could be the next Harvin....

But wait Kiffin is the dishonest one.

I think UF was always his school of choice, the problem with other recruits coming in concerned hin in regards to playing time. I don't think any coached lied to him, but he just needed reassurance. He is a teenager and maturity is not a given at his age.

Just because he decided to stay with UF doesn't mean anyone lied to him, that just sounds like sour grapes. A UT fan should look at it like we had a kid that was commited to UF based on a long history that involved family ties almost reconsider and gave us a good look.

Not every player that comes to UT for a visit is going to get blown away and not every player is going buy what a staff is selling. Even if they can provide a better fit for that player.

Urbie must have told Elam that Demar Dorsey and Jonathan Dowling are going to play DT.

You don't listen well. They never called sources on mbrown, only said they had a good feeling.

Guess I didn't listen well about Elam, either. Oh, and they had "sources" on this one, right?

LMAO. As I said, they are idiots.

Keep drinking their kool-aid if you want, but their "sources" are the message boards that you post on.

I would have to agree.

im calling bs on that article from yesterday. The quote at the end just doesn't make sense. recruits don't say that kind of thing. its improper and it makes the whole article seem untrue.

He's said some pretty bad things about the Gators off the record this past week...

He said some pretty bad things about the Vols off and on the record this past week...

Yeah apparently that's a trend for him. The dude doesn't sound too smart either if he can't figure out why two safeties were both told they could be the next Eric Berry.

And you guys lay off Austin (gatoraus) he's one of the good guys. trust me.

Did you spend a little time with him or something? :jpshakehead:

He told someone in private and he (a respected journalist) repeated it in a private conversation. He dogged your fans and your writers, but stopped short of dogging on the coaches.

I was never one to dog him because its his right to take visits, but I don't know what he expected when he says if today were NSD he would sign with WVU then takes a trip to a hated rival...I hope he didn't think people would be happy for him.
