You have to remember that they do not count the distance beyond the goal line on KO. I live in the area and watch all their games. Palardy's KO are out of the end zone most of the time. With wind, he'll put it ten yards deep beyond the end zone. Into the wind last night, he hit the wall behind the goal post at Lockhart Staduim. The only FG he missed this year was during the Byrnes game. The others two were blocked because of missed blocking assignments and the D was standing in the backfield! He did hit a 55, 60, 65, and 70 yard FG in a row off a snap and hold off the turf at camp a couple of weeks ago. He was right down the middle on them all. Also, STA does not kick many field goals. They score more often than not.

See my post below...you are right about the KOs. He has made the AAA team and will be playing on Jan. 9th in San Antonio. You will have the chance to see him KO college style. Hopefully he will be able to find a snapper and holder and will be able to get some reps in with them before the game. Big part of the kicking process. If you didn't see the Byrnes game, I think you can fiind clips on Youtube. I beleive they show his KOs and punts.

Is it just me or does his FG numbers look terrible?

His punting average is over 50 yds. Remember too, that punts are only measured from the line on scrimmage. He had a punt last night that was called back due to penalty that was 85 yards. He then hit another that was about 70 and was called back for same reason. His third punt was 75-80 yards resulting in a TB. It touched down on the 4yd line and skipped into the EZ. By the time he was ready to punt the third time, the returners were on their own 10 yd line and he was on his own 20 or 25. WOW!

one thing you have to remember about high school kicking is high school holders dont hold very well and you never know what the snaps are like

FWIW, STA's official stats show these 3 misses:

* 42-yard attempt wide left vs. Byrnes
* 48-yard attempt short (maybe partially blocked?) vs. Cardinal Gibbons
* 48-yard attempt wide right vs. Boyd Anderson

I am glad to have this young man coming. We are talking championships and we have got to be GREAT in the kicking game. I'm looking forward to a wonderful career for him.

Coming in and being guaranteed to start for at least 3 years, more than likely 4, doesn't come around often. Probably the closest thing we have to lock other than Jaq Smith.

Been that way for a while. The post you quoted refers to his Rivals ranking.

The only reason he is not rated 4**** at rivals is because he did not attend any of their camps over the summer. This is a political issue. ESPN, Sailer, and Rivals all promote their own. This kid from Jupiter plays on a team that is awful, has never played on the big stage, and has been invited by Palardy's kicking coach, Conrad, many times to come and compete with Palardy and others at his camp... invites to which he has never responded. I'm sure he has his reasons...I follow STA kickers a punters very closely and have for years. Conrad is the best!

Was at all these games. Boyd and Gibbons, blocked, line broke down. Still almost made the one at Gibbons. Byrnes could have been 60 yard field goal. Spoke to him after game and said he was shooting for left upright due to wind. Wind wasn't strong enough to make a difference...should have hit it normally. His only missed xtra point was against Gibbons as well, blocked, missed line assignment. At that point he had 45 PATs in a row and was heading toward an STA record held by Wes Byrum, Auburn.

If I remember correctly, Coach Conrad said he's not using a tee this year on FGs.

Heard that, too.

That was Hyams' reasoning for this kid being all hype...he used a tee. I was thinking I had heard he wasn't kicking FG's or XP's from a tee and would've loved to call him out on that.

Question for you guys that follow Palardy closely. Do you think he will be doing the punting and kicking next year?
