He is going to end up being a bigger get than any recruit this staff has gotten thus far.The ability to flip the field,Kick for a touchback or the enough leg to hit a field goal from downtown.These will greatly reduce the amount of yards that we have to defend or attack to gain and will show on the score board. BAMA 12 UT 10, Auburn 26 UT 22,UCLA 19 UT 15.Just think if we had his services this year, Dare I say 7-0 or a least 6-1.It is a truly a great time to be a Tennessee Vol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This kid is going to be a stud, no doubt. But it's hard to say we'd be 7-0 right now.

Michael Palardy will accept the official invite from the Army All-American Game when the selection committee comes to his school on November 9.

^^ that

7-0 will take

1. A good Kicker
2. The talent that works best in Kiffin's system
3. A little luck

I think there were passing plays available in all the losses. Our defense is not "two-deep" like UF's & UA's is. We are simply not there yet in terms of having enough top flight players so that a Will Hill type is on ST's more than defense. Having said that, we could easily be 7-0. The three wins were not flukes. The four losses were due to our correctable mistakes. No team feels like they "handled" us and no team will. UF is the only loss not in doubt during the last minute. So 6-1 for a naysayer. Monster Cody is a phenom that won't be missed or matched, but that game was ours to lose. We did just that. JJ and the Heisman hopeful didn't even score! Auburn and UCLA are teams that are not physical nor fast and have new coaches too. 7-0 maybe a stretch, but we wouldn't have needed a miracle to win against any team we've played.GOVOLS!

I know that had nothing to do with Palardy, I just felt we 'could' be 7-0 also. Sorry folks!

STA beat Deerfield Beach 27-0. Palardy put all KOs in endzone into and with wind. With wind put the ball 3 rows up at Lockhart Stadium, into wind, back of endzone. 3 for 3 on PATs, 2 for 2 on 30+ FG, and had one punt for 80 yards gross. He was standing on his own 20 and the ball ended up hitting outside the end zone and then in. It was the last of three punts, each one better than the other. Other two called back due to penalties one on DFB and one on STA.

:lolabove: Thats ridiculous!...I got to admit I have never gotten excited about a kicker since Fuad Reveiz...Palardy has the potential to be the best kicker we have ever had at UT...He is that good!

This is technically not a 80-yard punt, but still, 60-65 yard punt is very impressive. I have seen the video clips in which he kicks kick-off, he can consistently kick the ball for 70 yards, which will be a big plus for our special team.

Palardy's numbers this year through 8 games...

* 7-10 FGs (2-5 40+ yards) with a long of 42 yards

* 34 kickoffs for an avg. of 59.3 yards; 29 touchbacks (85%)

* 14 punts for an avg. of 47.6 yards with a long of 62 yards

'08 stats...

* 3-6 FGs (2-4 30-39 yards, 0-1 40-49) with a long of 33 yards

* 62 kickoffs for an average of 58.9 yards; 49 touchbacks (79%)

* 0 punts

Is it just me or does his FG numbers look terrible?

I thought I read where this guy was really good at hitting the long FG's.

He definitely has the leg for long field goals. He recently hit a 70 yarder in a kicking camp. Not sure about the accuracy. The average kickoff was 59 yards. Kicking off from the 30 in college, that's only to the 10.

I could be wrong, but I think even the ones he kicks out of the back of the end zone only count as 60 yard kick offs. He's probably kick a couple of onside kicks/pooch kicks to bring his average below 60. If they measured the actual distance of his kicks the average would be much higher.
