'10 GA DE J.C. Copeland

He could just be looking around because he's rethinking his decision, but you have to wonder if having a stacked DL is behind it, or if our coaches have told him to look because we're still in on several big time DL and running out of room.

It could be either. I find it very intreging that we turned down TJ Lafeit (sp). That means we are alot better then ppl think on the recruiting trail.

Playing all these spread offenses, you need a stacked class and then a few more. We need to recruit 2 deep at each position. He will get plenty of playing time in the rotation.

I said a few weeks ago that UT might have guys ahead of TJ and might not take an early commit, well; I got blasted- No way Kiff would turn down a 4 star olineman, well, whos laughing now,......ME!

what's that saying? even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then?

There is going to be alot of this....

The class we have now is going to look alot different come signing day. The earlier these kids commit the more "looking around" you are going to see. I also think there will be alot more kids waiting longer to sign. Ala Bryce and Orson....

But the good part of that is it goes for everyone. Not just us....

Idk if getting Quarles would be recruiting over him. IMO we want to take another DT. Copeland is a Orgeron special. High motor and great work ethic.

Thornton, Whitaker, Mahoney, and Quarles are all in play IMO. But if SC keeps having a good season I wouldnt expect him to waiver.

I would definitely take Quarles first. I don't think we take another D-Tackle unless we lose somebody(Jucos most likely) or get a top player ie.. Uko, Smith, Whitaker, Ash. Most of these guys we have very slim chances with. I like Copeland but if we have bigger fish, he is let go.

O if I had to choose, I would take Quarles hands down. No questions ask. JC is a great back up tho

Thornton and Whittaker both did not seem like we had a slim chance last week. Did something change? I think we have a good chance to land 1 more elite type DL guy to finish the class

Not sure when this picture was taken, but this fella is built like a brick sh*t-house. DT all the way after a little time in a collegiate strength program, IMO.

Body-wise, he reminds me of a young James Harrison (OLB Steelers).

Yeah, he definitely looks like a DT if he gains about 30 lbs. he looks about 260 right there.

In the highlight tape he reminded me of a Robert Ayers-type guy. He played end and tackle at a really high level like Ayers did. This guy is gonna be a stud

Yeah, the only thing he really needs to work on that I noticed from the video is swim and rip moves. He looks pretty solid for what ever position on the DL he ends up at.

Haven't seen this pic before. Looking like he's about to rip someone's head off in the power T.

He's going to be a good one and coach O is going to love him.
