There are a lot of intangibles that go into the recruiting process. A kid's character, his coachability, his determination are not always quantified in the star system. Every year, some of these two stars guys end up making significant contributions on BCS rosters.

Seriously?

I was okay with Nash and Jackson. Now Tennessee is planning on taking Glass, Sapp and Crump? Something doesn't seem right here. That would leave three spots left and currently Rogers, Ambles, Stone and Robinson are possibilities. I'm sure there are others too. Hopefully these kids are committing without actual scholarship offers because it would be really stupid to take them and then have to turn away better players. I would like to add Glass no matter what though. He's always wanted to be a Vol.

Why would UT accept this commitment with who they have left on the board? Did he commit and we are holding off if we lose on others?

Yeah, there's got to be more to this. Maybe there are commits without scholarship offers from UT yet that are basically on stand-by if we can't fill up our scholarships.

I think our 22 commits will be down to 20, per the recruiting fix.

So we have 7 spots available.

I think his commit is like Crump. He's on board if we offer.

Seven spots leaves: Ambles, Rogers, Stone, Robinson, Green, Glass, and Clark.

If any drop out, Crump, Propst, Sapp, Reedy.

We are going to lose Ralph Williams and probably JC Copeland. Also, John Brown might not qualify.

I agree because no names have been added to Rivals or Scouts at this point. If they do, that means we are going to miss on one or more of the names we are hoping for (Stone, Robinson, Ambles, Rogers, Copeland, etc). That would suck.

I say they are back-ups for now until they get a firm NO from the guys listed above.

GBO!!!!!!!

Meline will pry be a safety(maybe nickelback?) also if Tennessee lands Milton, Hunter, Rogers and/or Ambles.

we need bodies at S or LB...he is already qualified to get in...he can play Safety or LB accdg to his coach..high character kid that did not let the loss of his mother this yr affect him in school...I'm all for taking him because he sounds like a strong kid mentally and Fla St and Bama started calling him as a backup option if some top level guys fell through on their board

it is not 100% Loften makes it in school so I think this is a good move

Just because a recruit pledges their commitment doesn't mean UT has to accept it.

Some of these posts here are soooo stupid. There's no better way to describe it. Have you watched this kid's film? Have you seen him in person at a game? Stars don't mean anything - if you follow recruiting you would know this. Chris Johnson of the Titans was a 2-star. Where did he play? :eek:hmy: Eastern Carolina. They won their conference championship last year. They aren't picking the worst talent out there.

Now I'm not saying Sapp is definitely going to be the next Johnson but there's always a possibility. Give the dude a chance. Besides, there's not anything guaranteed saying that we'll have a spot for him. I hope we do, but I also hope we get Stone, Rogers, and Ambles.
