Whats sad is that you are being serious. Under the circumstances of the coaching change our class is much better than anybody was legitimately expecting. You going to judge the putting together of a class in the last few weeks before signing day?
Don't know if this wrinkle's been brought up yet, but his teammate is supposed to be one of the better tight end prospects next year ... and we will need a good tight end soon. I'm sure getting Sapp doesn't hurt us with Rome.

With that said, I'm past the days of simply filling classes with bodies. You can't do that anymore and win in this league.
Don't read too much into the Fulmer comment.
There's two ways you get SEC talent. You either find it or build it. Dooley seems to be trying to do both... while also establishing some relationships in some critical areas and schools.
I agree with other here. I think they see Sapp as a LB at the next level. IIRC, wasn't Al Wilson a modestly rated S coming in? I believe Inky Johnson was also rated low.
This isn't the first rodeo for these guys. They know what they're doing.
And FTR.... UT does need bodies and can afford to take some chances rather than leave scholarships open. The past two coaches have assured that by their attrition of the roster.

Big difference in comparing Fulmer filling a class with mediocre talent with a whole year to recruit and Dooley trying to fill a class with some mediocre rated players with only a short time left. I think from the tone of this post you realize that. If our roster wasn't so depleted, I'd agree with you that I'd rather save a few scholarships for next year to fill with higher rated players.No. I understand that Dewlee is in a tough situation. It's wholly unreasonable to expect a top class in the 3 weeks he's been given. Obviously, we weren't going to end up with a top class with Junior here anyway.
I'd be very surprised if we don't end up with a top 10 class. (As another poster alluded to, we have an outside shot at a top 5 class.)
