I know that to sign a NLI you have to be awarded athletic money. That is according to the NLI site. Academic money does not count in regards to an NLI. Also in DI football it has to be a full scholarship, partials are not allowed. I an athlethic scholarship is not offer the player may not sign a NLI.

I'm pretty sure it does. I think it's just all a matter of where the money comes from. He'll probably be on an athletic scholarship next year.

"There are rumors that UF landed a total of five commitments at the camp. The strongest possibilities, but still unconfirmed, seem to be McDonough (Ga.) Henry County receiver Markeith Ambles, Pahokee receiver Chris Dunkley and Staten Island (N.Y.) Curtis defensive end Dominique Easley. Rivals.com ranks Ambles as the 43rd overall prospect in the country, followed by Dunkley (74) and Easley (130)."

wow...

I'm hearing that Ambles wants to commit to UF. That said, I'm also hearing that if UF gets their preferred WR targets, which is looking pretty likely, then they'll pass on Ambles and then UT would land him. That's from avid UF recruitniks that are usually correct with what they say about UF recruiting. TIFWIW.

Who do they have above Ambles? I don't keep up with UF so I have no clue. He's a ballplayer, but attitude is a concern.

Chris Dunkley, Justin McCay, James Louis, and Kadron Boone.

Yep, there are certainly plenty of "rumblings" about Ambles having off-field issues and/or attitude concerns, but I've not seen any specifics mentioned. I sense that Bama may have backed off on him some because I don't hear any Bama recruiting "buzz" about him lately. I have heard that CNS definitely does like Ambles' football skills though.

Edit: BTW, if you go to that tigerdroppings.com SEC rant section thread I linked (above), I'm "Tide" on that board. I wasn't able to register there with "Tidal Surge" -- got a message that name was already taken, though I've never seen that name posting on there. That's a pretty good place to pick up some information and trade "smack talk" if you enjoy that sort of thing. Most are pretty civil to you if you behave over there and most of the "smack talk" is done for laughs. Of course there are a few jerks on there, as one would expect.

Thanks! A nice Bammer. What's going on?? Lol jk. I took a bama girl to the ut bama game last year. Wanted to make her walk home lol.

I don't think so either. Personally, if he wants to come to UT, I would take him, but I won't be as thrilled about it as some on here would be...

Honestly I'm not gonna really worry about attitude problems because if any staff can instil discipline in their players it is this staff. We will no longer win the Fulmer cup, just look at the facts highest gpa in 5 years and no arrests. Let's give the kid a chance.

A Gator fan just posted on TOS that UF is no longer pursuing Ambles. He also said it's down to UT and Bama, but UT is the clear favorite. TIFWIW

I'm really starting to feel uneasy about this guy. First, his offer to play in the Under Armour All-American game was pulled. Then, you have all these schools pull their offers, with UF apparently being the latest. Not to mention that in-state UGA never even offered him in the first place. Something just isn't right here...

Things are getting weird with Markeith again. He supposedly tried to commit to the Gators after FNL, but UF would not accept his commitment. If true, that means USC, Florida, Georgia, and Auburn do not want any part of this guy. Not to mention he lost his invite to the Under Armor All-American game...

EDIT: SGM beat me to it...

It's a possibility that the Gators got a couple more WR commits at the camp and filled up the position.

Per Scout.. Isn't it time for him to start narrowing down his list a little bit ? Geez.
