'10 JUCO LB Glen Stanley

I don't understand why everyone is getting bent out of shape.. This is a Juco kid and while it is a commit it's not that serious.. If he chooses to go to USC I won't lose any sleep.. It's his choice...
Plus I don't think he is off limits to anyone, even USC. I just don't understand why some think its wrong for USC to go after some of our targets but think it is great that we are going after other schools targets.

People aren't upset he might be looking elsewhere, they're upset b/c of where is he looking. While it would be nice to forgive and forget, the exit in the night incident is still fresh in everyones mind. Add to the fact that he claimed he wouldn't be going after any UT recruits, and you've got a pretty strong case for people being a little salty about the whole situation. If he decides to come to UT, great. If not, I'm not going to wish the kid ill for wanting to play at a certain school.

this is a dick move by Kiffin. They weren't interested in him before. Lance Thompson was, but they wouldn't let him move on the kid. Once kiffin left, Thompson got this kid. Now, usc claims they realized a need linebackers and so orgeron was scouring tapes and happened to find this kid. i hope he can see through all the BS they are throwing at him.

I want this kid to sign with UT just as much as everyone else but I him here out of free will, NOT obligation. If he wants to be a Trojan then he can carry his butt out west. No hard feelings. But, he would be wise to stick with his commitment to UT bc remember, he only has two years left of eligibility.

I agree kid needs to look at depth chart at USC and see if he really has a shot or is just a pawn in K's vendetta.

Someone earlier ridiculed this opinion... but I think Kiffin is doing things for spite now in addition to his effort to fill out his class. He has practically anyone in California he wants... yet he's targeting UT recruits that he didn't even want while at UT.

Any kid UT, its players, and its recruits can rescue from playing for CLK... it will be doing them a favor. Not only has the guy proven himself to be a petty, hypocritical, liar... USC could well be facing significant NCAA problems. Carroll knew exactly what he was doing. Kiffin would not have been offered much less hired if that cloud wasn't hanging out there.

And I believe most of these kids do. They consider alot more than us fans give them credit for. But I really do not blame alot of these 17-18 year old kids for being indecisive. If I had Nick Saban, Lane Kiffin, Urban Meyer, and a slough of other top notch coaches catering to me and rolling out the red carpet for me I would be pretty darn torn myself. And then you have players like Michael Taylor who just make a decision out of shear emotion. His switch has really bothered me the most because he is going to be a special player for them. WHEN he sees the field. The gators are stacked 3 deep at every LB position.

Lane Kiffin is a child. Plain and simple. He is just fortunate to be able to surround himself with good assistant coaches. His immaturity, arrogance, and lack of respect for other coaches is telling of the kind of person he is. Even ESPN, USC fans, and the LA media do not care for the guy. The ironic thing about the whole situation is, is that he feeds into the negative publicity.

absolutely. i just want him to make a clear decision and not have a bunch of BS in his head courtesy of those snakes out west

I say relax on X. If "My Name Is Earl" has taught me anything, it's that bad stuff happens to jerks. When USC doesn't win the Pac 10, doesn't earn a BCS bid, and doesn't even come close to the success they had under Pete, he'll be gone. My guess is that there will be a new coach at USC in 3 years. Pride goes before a fall and X is due some humble pie.

Knowing him, he doesn't eat pie...:bash:

Guys, I am hearing that GS is waivering because he is having the same D**n problem all of our Juco's are having with that extra math class.

If this is the case we really need to change that rule, I mean what is the point the SEC prides themselves on their quality of football not their academic requirments.

I would have thought that the current staff would have known about this "math class" prior to actively recruiting this guy so hard. I thought that he was waivering due to Lane Kiffin & Co. was he not?

This is the reason other people make fun of us for being football-obsessed rednecks that can't read. These players are student-athletes.

I can only imagine the logical conclusion of this type or reasoning: "In the SEC, as long as you can sign your name, you can sign your LOI, and if you can't we'll have someone do it for you."

Some people are stronger in football than math. This rule is obvious bias against the mathematically challenged.:)

I really don't care if they barely have a 3rd grade education but if they can play ball and help us win championships then by goodness sign him up.

Exactly, couldn't have said it better myself. When you go to the games you can spot out the people who would say things like this.

If he is acting spiteful, I don't understand why other then he really is just a jerk regardless of what his dad says. He chose to leave us in a lurch, we didn't abandon him. Yes there was some ugly fan reaction but a touch of empathy from him and he'd understand and take it as an ego boost.

His fall when it comes will be hard and ugly. He appears to be a pretty miserable human being.

Lamer out at SC may have known Stanley did not have the math class required to come to UT. Maybe that is why they contacted him about visiting. They have had issues with getting players...as they have actually lost 1...and gained 0 since taking over. As for the math class....I agree the staff should know if the JuCo kid being recruited can actually get into UT. I see no point in wasting time on someone who can't actually sign. Why let a kid get a free trip, free hotel, meals..and whatnot....when he has not even done what is required to get into college? JMO
