'10 MS OL Shon Coleman

Droxside, how much is Au paying Coleman?

Not as much as Trooper or Dyer.

Plus I think everybody knows this is a visit for the heck of it, but stranger things have happened. He grew up a Tennessee fan and if wants to play for an unexperienced coach who had a losing record, might as well play for the one on the team he grew up liking, not the one at Auburn.

:lolabove: Nice call.

Coleman left Auburn last week-end completely committed to Auburn. I do not blame you guys for wanting him, but he is visiting other places for fun now as he said he as going to. He wants to be a part of a stable, family oriented place like Auburn now has with the chance to compete on a national level which is about to happen...

Stable and family oriented is not words I would use with Trooper on staff...

Yeah, James Bryant says people in Oxford are saying he's either there or on the way there, but of course that's not shocking. Just seems like no one knows for sure yet, the way the news has been I would lean towards the negative.

I might need a break from VN recruiting section.. Bad Karma all the way around..

Me too, seems like every time I log on I read about some more BS news about a coach weaseling out of town in the middle of the night. Give me a break! I wonder if Thompson or Chaney is leaving next? That would make a complete sweep of the coaching staff. I really hope CDD can turn things around because I would like to look back on this and say that it made us better in the long run.

Coleman is visiting a program with better facilities, a larger stadium, a better history of stabilitiy, a better track record of draftees, etc than Auburn. Plus, either he or Robinson said they'd grown up Vol fans. Regardless of the nice things he said departing Auburn... you can be sure this isn't just a "fun" trip. I'm not predicting a flip or doubting his sincerity concerning Auburn but guys go on "fun" trips to USF, Miami, or Hawaii... not Knoxville in January.

I heard Dooley is leaving to be a GA at USC.

So, is he here or there? I'm sure he can't be hard to miss.

Word out of Ole Miss is that the Rebel coaches have spoken to him recently and he confirmed that he is on his way to Oxford.

He left Fayetteville this morning and our guys are reporting that he was headed to Oxford as well.

Actually I am here to see what you guys think. I just voiced my opinion. I do see your point though. Really no reason to knock the various illusions here, not my place, you are correct. I'll let you get back to your hope for a fairy tale ending ..Best Of Luck..

Nothing says fairly tale like wishing for Auburn to be nationally competitive.

Posted this on the big board but according to Shon's facebook he is in Oxford for an OV. Not sure we ever had any shot at him anyhow.

Anyone notice he got his 5th star? Painful that he grew up a UT fan and that other coach left us out in the cold with him. Could have been huge.....

Watch out for Ole Miss with Coleman.

I head he left with quite a good impression of the Rebels and his mother is endorsing it because its only an 1hr from home.

Colemans last visit is scheduled for Miami. If I were Dooley I'd see him tomorrow knowing Robinson is coming this weekend hoping we can get the combo deal. Its a long shot but the potential he brings it would be worth it

Even though momma is pushing Ole Miss I don't think he'll end up there. It will be tough for anyone to pull him from Auburn at this point. He likes the school and coaches a lot and has become close with a lot of their players.

pulling robinson and coleman would be epic. if we can somehow get him to come with robinson, i will be ecstatic. it is very unlikely though.

Epic does not begin to explain this scenario. Unless we snag an NFL OL coach by Wednesday, we've no shot. If Dooley could do this almost impossible task, I'd nominate him for Time's Man of the Year.

How about OL, DL, RB or QB, depending on what CDH coaches. Gonna be kind of hard to snag recruits when they haven't built a relationship with their position coach.
