I definitely want Cobbs. Our staff wouldn't want him if he wasn't great, and either would Oklahoma, Florida, LSU, and USC. I say we paint the rock for him this weekend when he comes in. Personally, I have a good feeling about the kid.

cobbs is not as good as prater, but he's better than milton and green, he is about the same as ambles...he's a stud and would be one of our top players in this class if he commits.

Cobbs and Ambles are equal,

both are better than Milton...

I like Cobbs. I'm just not ready to say he's the best WR we are recruiting. I think he's a good possession-type receiver, but Ambles is a better one IMO. I just can't shake the feeling that Cobbs ends up on defense regardless of how well he has done at receiver and the fact that we are supposedly recruiting him as a receiver. I doubt we are telling Kyle Prater Cobbs is going to be a receiver. JMO.

LV is completely right, cobbs will have a huge impact no matter where he goes, or what position he plays, i think he should play WR for sure, he is very strong and IS NOT slow, just because he isnt a burner like nuke or a giant like milton or prater, doesnt meen he cant be good, he is a freak athlete and will kill people alll day on the feild

He was the best WR at the camp. He wasn't going up against scrubs either. Here are some of the WRs who Cobbs beat: Justin McCay, Trovon Reed, and Darius White...

He may not be a burner, but all these posts about his speed leave me scratching my head a little. The guy is plenty fast with pads on and considering his weight. Speed will not limit him no matter what position he plays.

we're also forgetting that the 4.7 was at one camp and is electronically timed which they say automatically adds .2 to a time...he doesn't look like nukeese but he looks plenty fast in the few highlights i've seen.

Don't be shocked if this guy commits on his visit. We are way out front and he wants to get it done before his senior year. I really think if his visit goes well, he'll commit.

that is the feeling many seem to have...

I really think he commits now as well...especially after talking to GJ and Oku.

Could Cobbs end up at safety?

I know most view him as a WR but with Teague, Richardson, Milton, Ambles and (God willing) Prater it seems like we are/will be stacked there and he could fill a serious void at SS that will be left by Berry

I would love to see him at SS or OLB. As I have stated before, it would be unfair if Cobbs moved to defense.

Was trolling around on BOL and an "insider" says that he heard Cobbs will commit to UT this weekend. A half a dozen other "in the know" posters say they heard the same.

Not surprising, the bammers don't want him anymore because he has been so fickle with his recruitment.

With Prater strongly considering the VOLS, Cobbs would be wise to commit even if it is a soft verbal. No way we get both Cobbs and Prater imo.

There have been these rumors flying around the Cobbs thread in the recruiting forum...I doubt he will pull the trigger yet though. Maybe a silent commit but I doubt public.
