He's not going to win a conference title and could have a paycheck doing something less involved than coaching. He's also lost the recruiting touch. Kids don't necessarily remember the Florida of the 90's and when's the last time you've heard someone say "I've always wanted to play for Spurrier". He's not the draw, it's instate kids wanting to play for USCjr regardless of who's coaching.

the game has passed him by and he doesnt have the fire anymore. He fed off of winning and its not happening in Columbia. Time to ride off into the sunset and play more golf. I guarantee you that a deal has been made for SOS jr to take the reins.

Totally agree. His is exactly like Fulmer, except Phil, Jr. isn't leaving Winchester.

I understand its the general belief among opposing teams' fans that Spurrier will retire soon, I disagree, but Im not getting into that. But you obviously dont know what youre talking about. If Spurrier leaves anytime in the next few years, his replacement will be Ellis Johnson without question.

I hope USC does take Ellis Johnson. He would be on the head coaching level of a Brad Scott. Great assistant that has been passed over in several programs.

Haha, well if we were dividing then the post I quoted which said "60/40 Gamecock" would lead you to believe he is 150% Gamecock.... I think they were saying 60% chance Gamecock and 40% chance Vol, to which I replied with my 100/0 statement. Sorry for the confusion.

Phil Jr. was never here. But i expect CPF to move to montana. he has always wanted to live there and loves it there. Over in that part of the country is where he will coach next (if he does again)

actually a chastity belt made of waffles sounds great. you get to eat delicious breakfast food and then get to the really good stuff. it wouldnt be a very effective chastity belt, but i would enjoy it

I think you are 100% wrong. SOS knows that he cant get it done there and its killing him. Unless by some miracle of miracles USClite makes a serious run to a BCS game he's history. Did you see him at the end of last year? He was cooked. I bet that right now he's not thinking about football, but rather taking a tour of Augusta, Pebble Beach, Sawgrass, etc. As for SOS jr, you can book it. Why do think SOS went to that graveyard in Columbia in the first place?

Im sure its easy to look and say that since SOS jr is there with his papa, that he will be the next coach, but I am telling you he will not be the next coach if Spurrier quits after this season. It will be Ellis Johnson. Thats what I have heard, not my opinion.
