rex i have to disagree with you here...i don't think steve cares at all, i don't think it's eating him up, i think that he is just happy to collect his paycheck and golf for half the year and then when the season rolls around he becomes a caricature of himself grimacing and throwing visors in order to make it appear that he is anguishing over the poor play of his team but really he's thinking of that triple bogey on 16 at augusta.

First time post. Rex, I believe what the gamecock fan said about Ellis Johnson. I had to move down here years ago and all i get to hear on the radio is sclite,Clemson and UGA. They seem to think the sun rises and sets for Ellis Johnson. Not very much talk ever about junior though. GOVOLS:)

Who is the Johnson guy? this is the first i have heard of him. I have always assumed SSjr would be handed the reigns after him.

Hes our DC right now. He has been around the block a long time. Coached at clemson, Bama, Mississippi State, and was the head coach at the Citadel. Has great relationships with all the high school coaches in the state.

He is listed as the Asst. head coach along with being the DC. He was DC at Mississippi State with Croom for 4 years. Junior is only listed as coach for receivers. Spurrier is from up in my neck of the woods. Don't like him as a coach. I kind of like the looks of frustration he has been having since becoming coach of the roosters.

I like our chances of eventually landing him. I don't think there's anything he hasn't seen of USC that could swing him their way being that we are tied.

I agree, I just believe SC can find better. They will be under some serious national heat to hire him because of his color, but you have to put the program first. A guy like Randy Edsall, Brian Kelley, or maybe Bud Foster would be a good fit. I personally believe that Charlie Strong would be a better option than Johnson.

Johnson may not be their best choice for next head coach, but I believe thats who it will be and yeah I haven't heard of any organization to be under pressure to hire a white coach. I think Charlie Strong deserved a shot at a head coaching job, (still do)but i didn't think it should have been in the SEC at the time. Need time to earn your stripes as head coach running the entire program somewhere before you get into SEC.

Like my first post said ,been a long time reader so I know we will get a stay on topic response before long.
I've seen the young man listed as DE and DT. Does he have the speed to play as a DE in the SEC or are we looking to add some weight to him (if we get him) and have him play DT? Does anyone have a link to a video?

Austin has talked to Quarles this morning and he would not say that Tennessee and South Carolina are still tied, but didn't say he was committed to any one either. We are watching that one closely.
