I know it sucks to see a 4-star LB go out of state...but we have critical holes to fill elsewhere. If we start losing those OL that are in-state then i will get worried.
I see it like this.
OL 6-7
DL 5-6 .....2-3 DT and 2-3 DE's
QB 2
TE 2-3
Kicker 1-2
WR 2
LB 2
DB 2
RB we are loaded...not a big deal to take one
LB we have #'s..lot of unproven guys though...we took like 4 last year
I think if this staff decides he is a necessity and puts the press on..we can swing him
When Ed O, Monte, and Lance come calling he will show interest back
“LSU was my team as a kid,” said Tennessee linebacker Justin Maclin said. “My dad knows some of the coaches and I’ve always been connected to them.” The Tigers were the first school to offer Maclin last summer and he says they are still recruiting him the hardest. “I think that LSU is gonna be real good this season,” Maclin said. “Plus, after this year they are gonna be losing a lot of..."
While he isn’t sure about attending the USC camp, Maclin does plan on attending camps at Tennessee and LSU. “I really like the new coaches at Tennessee,” he said.
“I think they are gonna be real good,” Maclin said. “Tennessee is getting a lot of great recruits and (defensive coordinator) coach Monte Kiffin is already a Hall of Famer. You know they are at least gonna have great defense with him.”
He says the Vols like him at both linebacker and defensive end. “They said they’d probably use me at D-end on third downs,” he said.
"LSU, Alabama, Illinois, Florida and USC are my top five right now," Maclin said. "I like LSU, Alabama, and maybe Florida the most right now. They all play my style of defense, are winners, and have good academics too."
"I'm open to others schools besides just those top five. I'm also talking to North Carolina, Syracuse, Memphis, and Tennessee. I'm also receiving mail from Georgia, Oregon, Stanford, Duke, Vanderbilt, and a lot of others."
