'10 TN LB Justin Maclin

Back to the topic

It has always been a struggle to wrangle kids in Memphis. Even during the best of times at UT. It's a city that is literally at the crossroads of so many states. Justin needs to get his priorities straight and go to TennSC

“I like them a lot and they are a cool group of people,” said Maclin of the Tennessee coaching staff. “Coach (Ed) Orgeron comes to the school and I talk to him all the time. He’s a nice guy and real good coach. Coach Orgeron is recruiting me very aggressively, probably the most aggressive out of all the coaches.”

Per Scout... He still lists Alabama and LSU as his leaders with USC a close 3rd...

I hate the idea of losing Tenn players to our Rivals. Especially losing them to any to the Big Three

He doesn't deserve to be a Vol? Why, because we didn't make his top 3? Does NuKeese Richardson deserve to be a Vol? Or better, Mr. Teague?

A better comparison would be Marlon Brown imo....we are just spinning our wheels because he thinks its cool to be against the instate team that wants him most. Hes made it known several times that we arent being considered that much despite the fact we are recruiting him harder than every other school. We have Orgeron on him and will prob end up getting him in the end but my opinion of this behavior will not change. Teague is not a good comparison considering we were still on his radar despite the fact he had commited to UF. CPF wasnt recruiting him as hard, plus everything was up in the air at that time considering we werent even fully staffed until the beginning of this year. Nuke isnt from Tennessee so he isnt part of the initial point I was trying to make about instate kids.

By the way its MY OPINION so dont take it personally .

Your kidding right? I would take this guy in a second. He is a very good talent, and getting another recruit from Memphis is helping but that "fence" around the state. Behind some of the OL he is very important. Also, throw it in there that he is in a position of need.

Favorites normally change, after official visits. If his doesn't, then you can worry, complain, give up, or whatever.

If you're responding to me, then you misunderstood me...I am saying that I am not sold on his comment that he doesn't think that he "deserves to be a vol"...

Pretty sure we all would. LBs are crappy right now it seems and he's one of the top players in the state... and Bama already has one of our top players and may very well get the #1 player in the state.

I don't see Tennessee being in it at all. On signing day expect to see a bama, lsu, and USCw hats on the table. He just seems determined to leave the state IMO.

Coach O "Justin Maclin coming to Tennessee"
CLK "Has he told you something Bebe?"
Coach O "No, but JMaclin comin to tennessee. I will know everyone from that county and get them on our side. If I can get Teague's @ss here, I can get Justin's." (writes Justin Maclin on the white board and throws marker on the other side of the room)

I think we got a shot.
