'10 TN OL James Stone

This. Stone's value is his upside. The dude can move around like very few people for his size. He's a guard at the next level IMO, but he is a highly rated prospect for a reason. Brimming with potential.

We will take him if we can get him.

I have seen much smaller D-Lineman outclass him on the field. When he plays on the DLine, he can usually just bull rush and win but he doesnt have the quick feet needed for a good offensive lineman.

If he ends up at Bama is this really a loss for UT? I have read that he's not as good as everyone thinks he is. If we pull James, Cullen, Green, and hold onto Pair, Fulton, and Jose we should be okay.

Unfortunately in the game I saw, Jose looked and played way too much like Brimfield who according to UTSports didn't even get to play in mop up vs Memphis.

If Stone doesn't look better than Jose then he definitely isn't a 4*.

Pope, Revis, Hood, Jose and Anderson will battle for the job. I think Pope will win it in the end. He was recruited as a center out of high school iirc, and he is the oldest of the group which should give him an advantage jmo...

Kenny O'Neal was recruited to play WR and was one of the older WR's on the team, yet he wasn't very good. Don't get your hopes up, that is all I'm saying.

Yea, I know the knocks on Pope. I mean, I just can't see any of those other dudes starting. Can you? Please give me your opinion of the situation...

Carson Anderson will never see the field. Jose needs to get in shape. Revis i guess is a possibility. Hood i really don't know to much about. My guess would be Pope.

Pope will never play any meaningful snaps at UT.

The guys with the best chance at earning a starting pot next year beside Douglas are Brimfield, Shaw, and then Hood and Schofield.

His feet are plenty quick for guard. This guy is a future starter at guard and will be a solid SEC player.

Brimfield was serving a suspension.

I agree that Pope and Anderson will never play a meaningful snap at Tennessee. They just are not SEC talents. Period. I have no clue who will win the starting Center spot but if it is either of them they are in big big big trouble.

I would give Hood the best chance based on what we know. I think they are grooming him to be the future center.

So what are you basing that he will start off of?

Based on his potential and the desire to play him at center. He's an extremely intelligent guy and I think he would be the perfect center. He may still be a little undersized, but C is a position that you can sometimes get some help at.

I think Hood could be an awesome center. I just think Pope will win the job. Hood is the only other one I could see...

You think Pope will win the job based on what? I'm not calling you out, I'm just curious.

More mature, older. I mean, that's all I've really got to go on. I know his issues. But Carson Anderson? Kevin Revis? Those guys are UT starters? I just don't see there being much competition. Pope might win by default...

He's not a very talented lineman. He's struggled since he arrived and he had a year longer to grow and put on muscle. He's not what you would call the cerebral type either. I'm telling you, they've been preparing Hood to become the center. If he's not better than Pope, then Pope will probably win it. I just can't imagine him not being better after having a year to learn and work in the S&C program. You certainly won't see any competition from any incoming freshmen at the position.
