'10 TN OL James Stone

Oh come on Larry...these guys on here know...Stone psshhh we have superman as a silent and have no need of a NFL potential guard.

Nashville (Tenn.) Maplewood offensive tackle James Stone says he has a top four of Tennessee, Alabama, Stanford and Auburn. He has three official visits left and will use them on three of those four. He says he has not set any of them up yet and that he will make his commitment on signing day.

Per Rivals... hmm. no ND or Vandy. always has been/will be a UT-Bama battle...

Well I guess his coach was wrong, didn't he give a top 5 or 6 and Tennessee was not in there?

I think his HS coach is a Bama fan who has tried to push Stone away from UT this whole time. LWS said not to believe anything he says. Looks like he was spot on since UT is still in it.

would give us a great o line to build off of in years to come. which we need so bad. not glamorus but much neede.

I am going to say he is going to Bama, they have been on him since the beginning.

So has UT......

I think it comes down to if he wants to redshirt his Frosh year or not. At UA, he will definitely be a RS. At UT, he will have a chance to start right away, simply because of our lack of Oline talent and depth after graduations.

One Auburn fan I talked to in Atlanta "liked their chances with Stone". He said they will take 33. He also said Auburn doesn't compete with Bama for recruits they compete with themselves. He was one of the stupidest people I've ever met.

They lose recruits to themselves?

He said that as long as they don't have a coach like Tuberville "who doesn't care about recruiting" they will have their pickings of any prospect they want. The kid must've been intoxicated, he looked to be around college age. I wass at the Marriott Marquis so he might've just been there with friends for NYE. He believes they'll get Dyer, Lattimore, and Seastrunk this class too. The Stone comment was funny though since most people have him as a Tennessee or Bama lock. My money would be on Bama.

How can they take 33? Did they only take like 17 in last year's class?

They took 28 last year and 28 the year before. I am sure not all of them made it in, but it can not be that many.

Not included on that 28 from last year would be Aubrey Phillips who went to FSU for like 3 days and then went to the Barn

Apparently they had some non-qualifiers and can backcount 8. They had 28 last year and 9 didn't qualify leaving them with 19. They counted two EE's of the 28 to the '08 class leaving them with 17. I guess that means they can sign 33 this year.

If they got Saestrunk and Lattimore to commit, Dyer and his teammate will switch to UT

But it won't happen

Apparently they had some non-qualifiers and can backcount 8. They have 27 now and were excited to move up to 3 in the Rivals rankings. I thought they would only take 1 or 2 more but apparently according to an Auburn poster on Auburn's TOS they think they'll finish the class with Seastrunk, Lattimore, Lemonier, Stone, Mosley, and a currently committed player that will "shock the world".

lol - seastrunk, dyer, and lattimore - lol.

Auburn still has the 85 max rule...they cannot just backcount anyone. They have to be an EE...or am I wrong? So you are saying they have 5 EEs?...and then 5 open spots in 09'...then room under the total 85 rule. And also they are counting on a few non qualifiers again? Does it hurt a school to have that many non-qualifiers? And who would they be from there list?
