'10 TN OL James Stone

He's talking about Jones.

Like I have been saying for awhile, anything that says that Stone is not interested in Tennessee is coming from his coach who Stone is trying to distance himself from. Listen to what Stone says.

It's Bama, UT and Auburn right now in that order. UT is close and this visit could put them over the top. Stone's interest in UT never waned, but the chances of landing him now are better than they were a month ago.

We won't know until Signing Day.

I agree...I know it's weird, but I have a better feeling about him now than I did before the coaching change...we have a huge need on OL and hopefully the visit this weekend will give us the edge at the end

He's here...this weekend...how could we be out of it?

I think this is an example of Scout listening to closely to this kids coach...like Sab said...you can only beieve what Stone is saying...his coach is a Bama homer with an agenda

I agree that you shouldn't listen to his coach, but he doesn't have any ties to Bama whatsoever.

The problem with these kids is that they like the excitement. If they were definitely decided they would already commit and still that does not mean much until they sign. They want the suspense to build so that on NSD their decision has more value for everyone interested. The flip side they also could have decided but again want the suspense on NSD of where they will sign.

In the end it really doesn't matter, because no one really knows how good they will turn out. Only speculation at this point and this time next year if they didn't sign with your school more then likely they will be forgotten unless they had some great freshman year.

I love the fact that James Stone is a bright kid.

Depending on what his GPA ends up as, he may qualify for the Volunteer Scholarship and other academic awards. If so, would he receive a the academic-based aid and then a partial athletic scholarship, or just a full athletic scholarship?

He'd get a full athletic scholarship.

Maybe if he was going out for the golf or tennis team.

FWIW, James Stone appears to be much more fond of Coach Dooley than he was of Kiffin. This could get interesting...

V,B!

TheDooley has hinted elsewhere that he is surrounded by people who would not want him posting info on VN. Draw your own conclusions, but caveat emptor, at least until he has a more established track record posting here. (No offense, TheDooley!)

If we can get Stone then I dont think we will have to worry as mich about our lineman and does anyone think we will offer OC Brown

Kiffin never had a shot with this kid because Kiffin is a baboon and Stone new it. Kiffin played it like he was not interested in Stone.

We won't go after OC. I know the previous staff was not high on him after his performance at camp. I wish the kid luck at Southern Miss.

Maybe he just didn't relate as well to Kiffin? Or maybe Kiffin didn't recruit him that heavily? It's got nothing to do with "Kiffin and all of his bs."

He didn't like Kiffin at all. Plain and simple. He didn't like him as a coach or as a man. This comes from someone who knows Stone. This is what Stone told them.

Ok ... that's fine. That's why I said that he probably didn't relate well with him. But, Kiffin may have not been a big fan of him either. But, I don't get the Kiffin bs comment. Sometimes people just don't gel with each other. Doesn't mean that one is full of bs.

Maybe this will make you feel better. The "bs" comment was apparently used by Stone when describing Kiffin.
