'10 TN OL James Stone

Maybe this will make you feel better. The "bs" comment was apparently used by Stone when describing Kiffin.

Oh ok ... well whatever. I haven't seen that quote. Didn't Kiffin not recruit him though that hard at first especially? Sometimes kids feel shunned and then get an attitude. I would like to have him though considering our depth issues on the OL.

I'd like to have him too. Our chances have certainly improved since Dooley came in.

Ok ... that's fine. That's why I said that he probably didn't relate well with him. But, Kiffin may have not been a big fan of him either. But, I don't get the Kiffin bs comment. Sometimes people just don't gel with each other. Doesn't mean that one is full of bs.

There's a bigger question here... Why on earth are you defending Kiffin? He came to UT as a coach whose name was mud and no one wanted. He was given a job that alot of guys wanted. A year later he left the job in a state that almost no respected coach would touch it.

He told UT players he had their backs... he lied.

He told UT officials, boosters, and fans that there was no where else he wanted to be and that he was in K'ville to win championships... he lied.

He said he wouldn't recruit UT commits... he lied.

He talked about doing things right, discipline, hard work, integrity, et al... He's a hypocrite of the first order.

Bottom line is that UT did him a good turn and tolerated a whole lot of "bs"... and he turned around and hosed UT.

Once again, why are you defending him?

Kiffin is similiar to the stuff you find at the bottom of septic tanks. If you defend him, you must bear a striking resemblance to the same stuff. Dude screwed us royally!! f*** Lame Kitten.

Why the obsession with Kiffin? He is no longer our coach so why can you not just let it go? You can always go to USC's board and praise his name there. COACH DOOLEY is the coach of the UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS now so who really cares what kind of relationship Kiffin had with any of the kids being recruited by the new staff?

I don't know if I'm necessarily taking up for him, but I don't get the whole bashing of him either.

You're acting like UT gave Kiffin the job just out of the goodness of our hearts. Kiffin and his staff were a great get for UT. If they weren't, I highly doubt that a top 3 program would've hired them away from us. As much as you might not want to admit it, UT was nothing more than a stepping-stone job for Kiffin and always was. He did instill hard work and discipline into the football team. You're blind if you couldn't see that. He was going to leave for USC or the NFL at some point. I knew that, and you should've known that. No one knew when or if USC would offer him, but it happened a year in. If you thought he wasn't going to leave to go back to USC, then you're naive to put it nicely. And, I don't blame him for it.

I'm not sure about everything he said over the 14 months he was here. Did he say that there was no place else he'd rather be? If he did, that's purely coach speak. I don't remember him saying that, but maybe he did. He did say that he wouldn't recruit UT commitments. But, who has he recruited that is still a UT commit? I'm honestly asking b/c I haven't heard. And, how do you know that a kid who is committed to UT didn't call USC and Kiffin? I would doubt that you're privy to all of Kiffin's conversations.

Finally, I'm sure Kiffin did tell his players that he had their backs... just like Dooley told his players that he'd have their backs ... just like Carroll told his players that he'd have their backs. It's a business and a career to coaches. They each made the right decision for them, and I don't blame any of them. Sorry, but I'm not jumping on the "hate Kiffin" bandwagon.

Haha ... I don't think I've started the hundreds of "I hate Kiffin" or "The thing that bugs me about X" threads. I'm just trying to drown out the ignorance from UT fans. It's a tough job.

I'm so glad you are able to lower yourself to our level and grace us your presence. Give me a break.

Every time something negative as posted about Kiffin Volfan8282 is there to defend him.

Well, not every time haha. There isn't enough time in the day. I will admit though that when I think something is ignorant, I have trouble letting it just go. And, I think hating Kiffin is ignorant. But, I'm slowly realizing that people want to blame someone for all of this, and Kiffin is the easy target. Don't get me wrong ... I think the situation sucks. But, I think a lot of people carry that over to Kiffin b/c he's at the center of the whole deal. Oh well, ignorance was in the world a long time before I came into it, and it'll be here a long time after I leave.

OK. You just keep making more and more sense...keep drinking the Kiffin-aid and talking about how UT fans are the ignorant ones...Right.

You must have been one of those spouting off about how every mental lapse Kiffin had was all a part of his "master plan."

Hating Kiffin is ignorant? Spoken like an opposing fan or someone that doesnt follow recruiting... While I agree that its not healthy to carry hate for people...anyone thats a vol fan would be ignorant not to be sickened by this classless liar. The way he left, the timing of his leaving and the lies about not recruiting our commits are reasons for hate, if you were born and raised on UT football like I was. Its a huge part of my life and when a little punk like that treats the players and the University like garbage, yes we vol fans have every right to hate this guy. That being said its nice to have a guy now that seems to have morals and has been called on multiple times a players coach. From what Ive seen so far he doesnt seem to be a bad recruiter either, considering the hand Kiffin dealt him...

If Stone is not a VOL and soon he must really love the crimson. Dooley is a straight-up kind of guy that connects with young kids. Stone will have a lot to consider after his visit.

Ki**in IS full of BS...it's proven fact over and over and over again. Get off his choad. He's a douchebag.

I never worried about Bama losing high-character recruits like Stone to UT with Kiffin driving the bus. I worry a lot more about recruiting against Dooley for them.

As well you should. Some close to Stone have said that Tennessee's chances went up when Kiffin left.

fact is that we must get this guy. He is within our borders, so we need to get him. anyone know how his visit went? it was this past weekend right?
