'10 VA DT Evan Hailes

My point was a JUCO affecting a high schoolers decision is just plain stupid.

Walls is still a question mark academically, Broussard is a huge question mark academically. Jeffrey is coming of a major injury. Copeland may at some point end up at DT but he certainly didn't look like he had the frame to me at Camp to become a future DT.

I don't think Brown is playing as big of a part as you are thinking. The same guy reprted last week that Hailes was worried cuz we already had 4 commits on the DL. Now we have 5...

It was not very long ago that he was holding out for an offer from Alabama. This kid is full of excuses. I am not surprised that he is using Brown as another excuse. I hope he goes somewhere that he can manipulate everyone or he will be a short timer as a college player. Someone should tell him that Fulmer is not here to daddy players anymore.

I don't know the kid personally. But he's going to have to realize that he can't go anywhere and start with that attitude. Reminds me of that DT from USC(name slipped my mind) that Saban had crying. Was his name Winston Justice?

He played OT at SC. I don't know who you are reffering to.

I just looked at his wiki, and he's had some pretty messed up stuff happen.

He's from Compton though, so I don't know why he's crying about getting ripped.

I would say that it is on him. The ball is in his court. He as an offer so why wouldn't he go ahead an pull the trigger? I know you have heard this before but if he is worried about competition then I guess we don't need him.

When he gets down here to camp and see's the campus and Ed and Askew gets to talking to him it will get worked out!

I was told last night that the staff fully expects him to commit at camp. So this info about him being scared of John Brown may just be BS.

Him saying Alabama is out of the picture pretty much made him a Tennessee lock. I talked to him about a week ago and he sounded real on the coaches (esp Orgeron and Garza) and sounds likes he is pretty tight with Askew.

That's awesome. Maybe Rex is right after all

:dance2:Sweet sounds good I'll just keep waiting then:whistling:

I just can't see Hailes going anywhere but UT. I know Askew is in his ear and I believe they have a pretty tight friendship.

Anyone else think this guy is a guard at the next level? He may be too valuable at nose tackle to put there, but he is going to have the ability to play on the offensive line when he gets through growing.

"The SEC is the best and you can't get any better than that. You can't ask for a better conference with better teams."
Hailes back in October '08.

And on May 10th:

"Right now I'd say my top five are Tennessee, LSU, Virginia Tech, Penn State and NC State. Those are my favorites but I'd really love to play anywhere in the SEC for sure. Right now, that's where the best players in college football are. It would be a dream come true to play anywhere in the SEC."
He's not going to LSU when he has a teammate in Knoxville much closer to home. The only other scenario I see happening with Hailes is he stays home and goes to Virginia Tech.
