MFarrell update on Hailes from his chat today

Hailes told me that Bama is out for him because they want him to come to camp to earn an offer and he's happy with the offers he has. I think he ends up at Tennessee.

If we could get Hailes and Quarles/Ash we will be absolutely STACKED at defensive tackle. Not to mention Jacques, Copeland, and any other DE we get (Gholston, Lemonier, one of the Byrnes kids).... Orgeron is by far the best DL recruiter in the country, and its not even a competition with Monte by his side.

Within a few short months, this staff is filling a huge void at DT caused by years of poor recruiting by the previous staff, and is actually turning what had been a huge weakness for us into a strength.

He might commit, but I have a feeling that he won't sign an LOI as a Vol. I have no evidence of this, just a feeling...

Your posts are generally pretty good but I have to call a foul on this one. I had a pretty hefty fart when I woke up this morning. My feeling is Hailes is definitely not a silent commit, and I have evidence in my drawers.

haha maybe you are right. I can't see us signing more than 3 DTs. Harris and Brown will be Vols, and I think Orgeron and Monte will stay on Quarles and his dad HARD and we will get him. With those 3 coming in this year, Hughes and Walls being sophmores next year, and a possible 5 star in Anthony Johnson coming in this year, Hailes will be hard pressed to see a whole lot of playing time any time soon. It sounds like he's getting a little scared of that happening...

Just my opinion. I prolly have no clue what's really going on...
