'10 WA QB Jake Heaps

hubbs is borderline stalking these guys anyways, I wouldn't want to talk to him every day either.

"So, Jake, since you took that nap, how do you feel about TN now??"

Hubbs also said we wouldn't get Oku or Bryce Brown for the same reason. Call me crazy, but I'm not going to base my opinion on whether or not we land a guy on his interaction or lack thereof with Brent Hubbs. Heaps talked to the new Scout guy the other day and had great things to say about Tennessee

Hubbs' coverage of UT recruiting is good, but his predictions aren't worth a crap.

This is right on the money. This kids phone is getting hammered by recruiters and journalists right and left so I wouldn't take it the wrong way if he didn't answer some of some of the calls. He's busy being a high school kid that has others things going on in his life.

I agree 100%. I just didn't want to say it blountly like you did lmao...:birgits_giggle:

I would notnreturn Brent Hbbs phone calls either. Got to be annoying ansewring calls from pesky online dudes and it would be annoying talking I coaches too after awhile.

Some of these kids just want a break. He's a '10 prospect, only removed from the '09 NSD by two months. He hasn't even started his summer vacation on the way into his senior year. While we've grown to cling to what these kids eat, breathe, and sleep I don't blame them for digging the attention at first. But after tons of texts & calls in the matter of just a few weeks, he may just want a little room.

Why do we need a daily update? He simply needs to stay in contact with our coaching staff, and vice versa, until he feels comfortable with his decision.

that is why there is a thing called "caller ID." these kids can separate themselves from the media, if they so choose.

Well, that appears to be what Heaps is doing. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, and in April there's still a lot that can change. I know Hubbs can only report based on his interpretation of Heaps not returning his calls, but I am just saying we saw signs in the last class for months that players like Oku and Brown were interested but not doing a lot of talking to media, and they still signed with us.

honestly he prob refuses to talk to anyone associated with Rivals right now with the massive drop in rankings. He talked to Scout's new TN guy a week ago.

Love to see him in Orange and White. Not sure who I like better. Scroggins or Heaps.

I just watched his junior highlights on youtube again, and I'm just going to go ahead and say it. If Jake Heaps comes to UT, he wins a national championship.

Let's just say that whoever doesn't land Heaps is going to need more than just tissues, they are going to need to order some ShamWow's to wipe up their tears.

Cal and LSU wouldn't make any sense as both have a lot of young Qbs on their teams; BYU isn't going to prepare him for the NFL so IMO UT and UW are the only schools that make any sense

This from a guy that played against Heaps:

I have played against him and watched him several times. He is partially a byproduct of the system. Skyline High School has had an outstanding offensive line through out his stay there. He is rarely under pressure, however when it does happen, as in the state championship this year, he makes poor decision. His height is height at 6′ 1″ is also seen as a problem. He also has played with players that have made him look good, a WSU recruit Gino Simone and one of the top WR recruits for the class of 2011 Kasen Williams. Heaps is worthy of national praise and recruiting, however I believe he is not the top QB in the nation.
