'10 WA QB Jake Heaps

I read something on TOS that stated Chaney was visiting Hendrix, Scroggins, and Montana this week... and that Reaves went to see Heaps. I think Reaves has a real good relationship with him. But the guy could be wrong.

As far as I know, Chaney is visiting with Heaps and is going out to evaluate Montana again. He may have went to see Hendrix throw yesterday, very good possibility. Not sure about Scroggins.

"Not surprisingly, one of the first prospects Tennessee will see is Jake Heaps, David Reaves will be in Seattle tomorrow. Elsewhere Lance Thompson will start off a long week of working Georgia high schools by starting the evaluation period at Markeith Ambles' high school."- Rob Lewis

Reaves is indeed visiting with Heaps today, and we certainly are trying our best for an update.

Thanks,

I know I read somewhere from the VQ staff that Chaney will be looking at Scroggins, Montana, and Hendrix. I'll try to find it...

lol...well we at least know someone from our staff is visiting Heaps this week, which is a good thing. To be honest I would rather Chaney be in charge of qb recruiting considering his past successes and the fact that he will be calling most of the plays.

I knew he was going, I just wasn't sure about Hendrix or Scroggins. Thanks for the info.

I couldn't find anything that "directly" links Chaney to Scroggins, but BH said that Chaney is starting in the midwest in Ohio and working his way to the west coast to meet up with Casey Clausen and look at Montana. I guess I just assumed that Chaney will be looking at Scroggins since he will already be in Cali. But like a previous poster said, all 4 of those QBs will be evaluated in the next few days, and that's whats important...

I think the only reason Reaves is going is because of the relationship he built with Jake while he was coaching at USCjr...

Then why don't you say, LWSvol said..., instead of "my source is telling me" to make you look good / even worse.

because at the time i was debating if he would like me telling that it came from him or not. just trying to be safe.

Matt, here is your Official Can O' Worms....

guys im not going to give it. I have already done something that LWS didnt want and I am not going to continue it. You can believe me if you want, and if you dont then I dont really care.

lol - sources. This guy cracks me up in every thread. He may have sources - but we all can have sources - doesn't mean they're worth a crap or know any more than the next fan.

Chaney won't be calling any plays.

I don't know. He will be involved heavily in the gameplanning, but I think they really haven't decided who will call them yet. Even if he doesn't, it's really not a big deal. I do believe however that Kiffin won't do that for long if he decides to call the plays himself. There are just too many other things he needs to be aware of on gameday and during the game.

Chaney won't be calling plays next year. I promise you. Maybe a few years down the road, but certainly not next year.

Yeah CLK has said he will call the plays until he seriously trusts someone with it. He said he gave it to the OC during spring training while at Oakland and he didnt like it at all.
