Im excited that he's willing to defer his mission until after college.

He won't even be the best QB in his class. Try again. The Texas RB is the best in the nation so far.

Actually amazing that a recruiting service (scout) has him as the top QB, two different recruiting guys whom work for Sports TV networks and possibly another recruiting service (rivals) could all have him as the Top QB and some the TOP Prospect in 2010, but a person with 3400 posts think he will not be.

What else you got for us Nostradamus?

Scout is absolute garbage. I'm going by what Rivals guys have said and they are saying that he will likely not be the top rated quarterback. Their words - not mine. Go get bent out of shape over something you actually know about.

excuse me if this has already been said but basically Mike Farrell with Rivals said this week that he was not impresses with Heaps when he saw him at a recent camp. Said his arm was not as strong as his videos have shown and that his reads were frequently off.

Bill King added the thought is he is not as big as they list him as well.

Similar to what I've heard. Thanks for posting.

I dont care what Mike Farrell with Rivals said this week. All that matters is what happens on the football field. This is a good kid and a great football player. I trust our coaches ability to judge talent over mike...

Ok Hatevol Jr. wannabe...

If you're going to trash someone elses opinion, then at least be man enough to not get yourself "bent out of shape" because he actually provided examples to support his case. All you said is a vague "Rivals guys" as if they aren't labeling him as potentially the Top QB next year. You even said "likely won't be", which means there is an opportunity.

Why would you even care to be on the thread if you're going to waste your time bothering yourself with what someone else thinks?

Jake Heaps is going to be a very highly recruited player and is a QB that Tennessee would be lucky to get. #1 or #5 ranking at his position is meaningless so why slam him and someone elses hopes of how good he can be?

You didn't see anyone call foul in your direction about Lache Seastrunk, which is who I'm sure you're talking about since clearly you think that Rivals is the end all be all.

Heaps will not be the Top prospect for 2010 on either service. Blake Bell, Christian Green, and Phillip Sims will all be higher rated as of right now than Heaps.

While Heaps maybe a good prospect, there are going to be better out there. I also believe that Heaps stays out West as well. I can't figure out what the love affair is with Heaps at all.

Trash someone else's opinion? Are you serious with this? Why all the whiny little girls in this particular thread. There are tons of "Kiffin is a bad, bad man" threads for you guys to congregate on. All I said is that Heaps wasn't going to be the overall prospect - which is true. I didn't trash the guy's opinion. He's perfectly welcome to it. I simply gave mine which is the more realistic one in all fairness.

lol are you kidding...u dont know much about QB at all if you think those guys are better

Blake Bell will be an athlete not a qb....hes 6' 00" too short bro

Phillip Sims needs alot of work...hes slower than Heaps as well....I didnt see him make more than one read the whole time in his videos....he doesnt step into the pocket and needs to work on his throwing form...

Christian Green is the real deal though...I have to agree he may near the top come signing day....Hes fast, has an ideal build and good arm....I like a scrambler myself...He will be good. I would be happpy with him or Heaps....

Bell is 6'6. http://kansas.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=72947&sport=1

Heaps and Sims really aren't that different speed wise from what I've seen. His throwing form isn't great though, I'll give you that, but he has probably the strongest arm in the country.
