'10 WA QB Jake Heaps

Why is everybody so worried what rivals says? does everybody really need their confidence in a player validated by every player ranking website? The best schools in the nation are the best because their coaches see the potential that everyone else misses. if you can't watch the highlight films and see that jake heaps is the best qb in the nation then just use a differen't ranking site.

i was just curious brother....stars and gold stickers obviously mean something but they aren't the way we follow a recruit. it's not like we suddenly get hard because a player is a 5* on rivals.com.....well, most of us.

At first glance you would not think Heaps is one of the top signal callers in the nation. But today he proved why he has a multitude of offers from all over the country by making every throw imaginable with ease and accuracy. He proved to have above-average footwork and threw the most catchable spirals in the entire camp. There is no doubt that he has laid claim to the top pro-style quarterback in the country. His stellar effort earned him QB MVP honors.

I was on Jake's myspace page earlier, and was looking at his comments section. You wouldnt believe that just about every comment is from UT fans. This kid is not going to make any life decisions with help from random people, so it seems pointless, but displaying the power T all over his page, who knows?

to answer someone from last week, there is simply no point in posting if I'm talking to a wall.

But say what you want about UW producing QBs. Go ahead and think that you're more credible than college football news releases of QB U's. I provided the links in an earlier "fact check" post.

Marve is a done deal.....you can hope against it all you want. I just hope Heaps/Scoggins/Hendrix pulls the trigger too.

Marve and any one of those three would be a good QB class. It would set up UT for 2010 and beyond.

My preference would be Marve and Scroggins. I think Heaps is the better QB now, but Scroggins has the greater upside and will have time to learn behind Marve.

If UT needed a freshman to play right away it would have to be Heaps.

Matt, just curious...why don't you like Marve?

Marve has talent and I will support him if (prolly when) he comes here. But Newton has so much talent its not funny. He is big, fast, and has a strong arm. Marve is not the biggest guy in the world either. Marve got suspended twice (so 2 mistakes). Newton had that one big one, but hasnt got in trouble sinse. Ppl say Newton is more fit for the spread, but i dont think so. All Newton is is a 6'5'' 240 lb QB with a laser arm who just happens to run a 4.5. Why wouldnt you want that? Like i said whoever comes here I will support 100%

I can respect that. I was just curious. My opinion is that I think Marve is the best fit for this system in 2010. Outside of that I am not sure, but honestly, does it matter. We all want a winner as fast as possible and Marve gives UT the best shot the fastest.

If Marve commits this week, do you think it will scare any of the HS prospects such as Heaps and Scroggins, I hope not!

I don't think it should. However, even if it doesnt matter to them, it will still be in the back of their minds when they decide.
