'10 WA QB Jake Heaps

BYU is the team to beat for Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline's Jake Heaps. While Heaps is interested in Tennessee, LSU, California and Washington, sources say his Mormon faith will lead him to BYU. Heaps wants to make his decision in June, and if it isn't BYU, it would be a stunner to a lot of people.

Some sources say Tennessee is No. 2 for Heaps, and the Vols have a good shot at landing Lakewood (Calif.) High's Jesse Scroggins.

Wadevol, you left a very important sentence out of that Farrell article. It was the first sentence of the next paragraph...

All these recent stories about him staying West/Headed to BYU etc. are all just recruiting analysts taking shots in the dark before he commits. Jake stopped talking to most media about his recruitment a few weeks ago, and now he's just going through it with his family and such to make sure he makes the best decision. Thats also why all the recent stories no longer have quotes from him. From this point on the only news will most likely be a commitment, or possibly a cut of a school or 2 to let them move on with recruiting.

Not a good sign.... There's an ad for a Washington Huskies apparel store at the bottom of the thread for me. That's it, it's a sign, Heaps to Washington. Oh, and the sky is falling too.

yes. That is very good news to say. Him going to UW really helps us out with Scroggins. If he commits to them soon, a Scroggins commitment at camp is not out of the question at all.

Matt you have the most twisted view I've ever seen on our QB situation. Scroggins is not going to Washington no matter where Heaps goes.

The whole QB recruiting is turning out to be as interesting as the B Brown recruiting. Our staff keeps it interesting

I see Scroggins as a UT vs. USC battle, regardless of where Heaps goes.

I do not see USC being a huge factor IMO. UF and LSU will be more of a threat, I see Scroggins being our guy, The more I think about it the more I assure myself he will be clad in orange next fall.

Guys, I hate to sound like a noob, but can someone educate a broth'a...? What is up with posts having just the word "This" in it?

BTW, we may be having a harder time getting who we want on offense than on defense, since it's less of a known entity than coach O and Monte. Their records speak for themselves, but less so with Chaney, Cregg, Reaves, and Wilson (no previous WR coaching experience). Until we start winning, I see the offensive staff as no better than our chief competitors. It's good that Chaney and Cregg came from the NFL, but there's no real name recognition and record to wow top offensive recruits. I'm not degrading them...just stating that it's more of an uphill climb for them in recruiting than for the defensive staff

If Heaps does in fact go to UW he will regret it. They are light years away from being relevant.
