'11 ATH Jabriel Washington

Lack of communication between the new staff and Jabriel cost TN in this case. There was genuine interest on Jabriel's end of things from what I've heard but none in return. I hope the attitude wasn't one of giving up because that don't look good. If they say he's not good enough, then ask the question, if he's good enough for Nick Saban at DB, he's definitely good enough for us. As a fan of the Tennessee football program i hope that we continue to pursue kids no matter what school their leaning to.

No offense big guy, but I'm gonna trust the guys tryna keep their jobs calculation of JW's interest more than "from what uve heard". Why do you guys think we hired a bunch of ins agents or architechts as our coaches????? 1.THEY HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE
2. THIS IS THEIR SHOT (Dool,Wilcox + co), THEY KNOW MORE THAN any1 that THEY MUST PRODUCE!!
3. Sit back, shut up, and root for your vols and your coaches.

I hope Jabriel is willing to listen when TN comes in on Monday. Tell him to keep an open mind because there are plenty of people that want to see him in Orange. McNatt is officially the On-campus recruiting coordinator for the Vols!

I've talked to Jabriel ALOT about how the Vols have been recruiting him ever since he got his offer at the o/w game last year. When kiffin was here, he was getting calls and letters like crazy, since dooley took over, its been dismal. Not saying he hasnt gotten the occasional call or letter or whatever they do to talk to him, its just been few and far between. He has nothing at all against UT, and they were def. in it for a good while. They just arent now, and idk if there is anything they can do at this point. And yes, they decide to evaluate him right after he commits to bama... that makes no sense at all to me.

JW is a lost cause at this point IMO. I wish our staff would redirect their efforts elsewhere.

I hope we can get back in on this guy. I hate it when teams like Bama come in and take our best players when there aren't that many to begin with.

He's 5' 10 ' and 165lbs, he has shown little interest in the Vols and I just can't see being to terribly upset at this point. We have many talented 5'10" to 6'1" 180-200lb guys. just go look at the roster. (UTSports.com)

If he were a position of need guy I think the story may be different. IMHO, just move on. GBO

It's really not a big deal. He'll be a good ball player, but he's not worth banging your head on a wall about

Yeah, I understand. Just more disappointed that he's headed to Bama more than anything. I'm more concerned about getting some quality D and O-linemen. We really need to land a good class this year to build depth so we can compete for the SEC again. Having back to back top 10 classes would be a huge step in the right direction.

I've been here for about 6 months, I moved from Savannah, Georgia. I like it here, but there's too many Bama fans. I plan on going to see some MTSU football this year

Yeah, Bama fans are always a negative, lol. Even if you don't really care for MTSU, it's just fun to get out and see some football.

This sounds familiar to what people were saying when Golden Tate signed with ND.

We have about 3 or 4 of them tho that are probably just as good. Oku Teague Dixon(if he makes it in) and its looking like were in pretty good shape with Justice Hayes and he looks like a great player we have plenty of speed backs and slot recievers we will be fine.

I see your point, but we've had Gerald Jones, Denarius Moore etc the last 3-4 years, but i sure would've liked to have had Golden Tate. You can never have too many playmakers. I'm not so much upset Washington is going to Bama (well maybe a little bit), but more so that it just appears that the staff he didn't bother contacting him the last few months. Bama, LSU and others were on him heavy while he was quoted as saying he'd only heard from UT once. No matter how slim the chances of getting him might have been, you don't just ignore one of the top 2 prospects in your home state.

Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda.
I'm not convinced that Washington is a top 2 player.

We dont need him now if he was a lineman and he was going to Bama we would be in panic mode but hes a gadget player and we have plenty of those
