OK, i see the light, we've got a secondary stocked full of play makers, Art Evans, A Anderson, S Raines, R Wilks etc. I guess panic mode = Antonio Richardson committing to Bama. That doesn't seem likely, or does it?
Gordon has potential, Clark i'm leery of (torn knee, LA Tech only other offer), Art Evans reminds me of Teddy "Big Play" Gaines. I think Nyshier Oliver may have more potential than any of the previously mentioned. Hopefully Dixon can make his grades, maybe he can be another Inky.
Not sure who these other CB's we're sitting well with are, Randolph and Walls are safety's.
^This. If he don't want to be a Vol, then to heck with him. We got bigger fish to fry. We will be fine with or without JW. No disrespect intended at all. We need players that bleed orange through & through, that want to be here, and cherishes & embraces the tradition of UT football. Posted via VolNation MobileAs much as I would like to see us land an in-state prospect, we do not need to start coming over as desperate at this point. Starting to make him a priority will make us look that way, and obviously with the way recruiting is going at this point, we are anything but that. So, let's move on and focus on kids who want to be here. If Jabriel wants or wanted to be here, he would not have ended the process so quick.
It means they're just not that interested. He did the same thing to Christian Coleman yesterday at Milan. An hour later a coach from Duke shows up and TALKS to him, instead of the coach, and makes him an offer. So Joseph came to Trinity today, and i dont know if there's a rule in apply right now against him talking to the recruit in person, but him and Jabriel didnt have any contact at all. He talked to coach Hodum though, and he apologized for the lack of communication thus far in his recruitment. He told Hodum since hes such a high profile kid they didnt want any appearance of wrong doing. Not exactly sure what that means, so take it for what its worth. I do know that they are planning on calling Jabriel's house on Wednesday though. I feel like im trying to recruit Jabriel to Tennessee harder than the actual staff is right now lol. Anyways, I'll let yall know how the phone call goes on Wednesday, but this is all that happened today.
GO VOLS!

Very odd statement by Joseph.
If they aren't overly interested in the kid then they dont have to apologize for a lack of communication.
But if they are apologizing then did they drop the ball once again?
Right now it seems like this staff from a recruiting standpoint is absolutely all over the place. They need to get organized in a hurry. Do they not have enough support staff in place or what?
Montrell- It's a very odd situation to say the least. I've been told they are on him full steam ahead now. Go figure.
If this is true then this is all on the staff yet again for dropping the ball IMO.
This should not happen at Tennessee. They absolutely have the resources available for things like this not to happen.
My guess (and it is just a guess based on some recent events I've heard about like Dooley cutting out some of the support staff) is that this staff just doesn't prioritize recruiting like other staff's in the SEC do and like Kiffin did.
I think we've all been spoiled by Kiffin and now everyone expects the staff to be everywhere at all times...
If you look at the makeup of the current staff, you will notice that alot of them are COACHES and not RECRUITERS. Maybe they realize that the TN brand is not hot right now and that it's more important for them to build a foundation and actually coach the current team instead of wasting time with high-profile guys with little to no interest. Jabriel was always going to Bama, so why waste time kissing his butt, etc? If he really cared about TN he would've at least committed later.
Perhaps the coaches are confident in their own abilities (think Wilcox) to overachieve with mediocre playesr on the field this year. Think of the ripple effect that might have. Now a recruit thinks dang if they can do this with these players, I could go there and start from day 1.
I agree that some of these stories are odd, but you guys are making way too big of a deal this early. You have an unknown staff entering a grim situation and you honestly think they should waste all their time going after the pre-madonna kids? Give me a break...
There's a whole lot more to running a succesful program my friends. Why don't we just sit back and wait until you actually have something to judge them on.
Just to clarify something that some fans seem to think or elude to that the staff is not doing there job.
During the evaluation period, college recruiters are allowed to visit high schools and meet with coaches, administrators and guidance counselors, but are barred from actually making contact with any prospect.
