'11 FL DE James Wilder Jr.

How is FSU on the rise exactly? They came into the ACC season with probably the most talented team in the division and a good preseason ranking, and once again toiled in mediocrity and got blown out in the ACC title game.

really?
maryland, nc state, and arguably clemson have just as much talent in the division
and VT, Miami, and UNC if you look at the conference as a whole - all are just as talented if not more so than FSU.
they had a good recruiting class last year so they will be back to FSU of old but (like TN) not for another year or two.
talent wise TN is probably slightly ahead of FSU right now so that makes it very attractive and maybe more so compared to FSU

Really depends on what Wilder wants to play...He's been recruited to play defense for the noles...while he is being recruited for offense here.

On the other hand, Wilder could probably go straight into FSU and compete for the starting RB spot. Not to mention, he would have an easier time shining in a much weaker ACC as of late than shining against the powerhouses of the SEC.

Hopefully that won't be Dooley's pitch then :)

That's exactly right. RB, LB, whatever...the kid is obviously very big, strong and talented on the football field. And with him being a 5star and one of the highest rated kids in this class, just getting him to sign with UT would be a monumental victory for our staff on many levels. Wilder will be a Vol come signing day IMO

Just a hunch or do you know something?

I know Wilder wants to play running back, but his status as top recruit is probably based on his ability at LB, isn't it? I mean, isn't Bellamy really the best running back out there?

Come on jmoore....the guy that posted that on VQ is a fraud/troll.

UT has maybe a 1% chance at landing Wilder.

were gonna steal this guy away from FSU just like we stole da'rick away from GA! :)

Are you kidding me? Maryland and NC State have as much talent as FSU? Wow, that couldn't be less true. They had good years, but talentwise it's not even close. Clemson is decent, but again, not as talented as FSU. They had a proven, senior quarterback, playmakers on offense and defense and a relatively easy schedule. They did play a lot better against their in state foes, but still got embarrassed by Oklahoma and Va Tech. It's their best year in a while, but it was still pretty mediocre. Not exactly setting the world on fire.

IMO, outside of Miami, FSU has the most raw talent and speed in the ACC this year, and while VA Tech is a great team and is always a factor, they aren't as talented as FSU or Miami. They're just better coached.
