He never said why....I get the feeling that Hubbs doesn't know a whole lot about what's going on with Paul either way.

That doesn't make sense to me unless this is the first time we have seen him. I find it hard to believe we were recruiting him this hard and have never seen him in person before his visit.

jmoore, how big was the kid that left us at the alter for FL, Michael Taylor? Is Paul around the same size? Is he as good? Is he better?

Here's all Hubbs has said on the situation....first quote is what got the rumors started. Second quote is from today.

Hubbs: I'm not sure what's up with Paul. I think he likes it here alot. Not sure if Tennessee likes him as much.

VQ poster: I have been told that part of the reason our coaches have cooled on Paul is because he wasn't near as big in person as he is listed.

i.e., he was much shorter.

Thoughts?

Hubbs: I think there was always some size concern. I can't say for sure that it was magnified after they saw him in person on campus.

I think Paul is right up there with Taylor, Taylor did'nt blow up until the Under Armour game. Paul is one of the top LB's in Florida.

This is why I think Paul is a Vol and our staff is all over him. Dooley telling him those things makes it clear he is wanted and needed here.

At the Nike combine in Atlanta last year (May '09), Taylor measured 5-11.5 and 191 lbs.

This is more like what I remember from the talk last year (around 6')... I remember he wasn't real big but he was all over the field and hit like a car. Similar to what you hear about Paul. I tried to search for his thread but had no luck..

But if you look at the top of their noggins against the shelf behind them, looks like maybe an inch difference. If Moore is 6'1", that would put Paul at 6' even or close to it. He looks to be at least 5'11".

I think this is all crap. UT wants Paul. Paul wants UT. In the end he will be a Vol and will be a beast.
