'11 FL RB Andrew Buie

Buie named Auburn, Ole Miss, Louisville, & South Carolina as his top 4 in a new Rivals article. Said Auburn & Louisville are recruiting him the hardest.

Looks like this ship has sailed.
This I don't understand, sounds like we've quit recruiting him for him to go cold all of the sudden. Unless the staff thinks they have a decent shot at Crowell or Blakely?

Oh yeah everything I've heard says we have no chance with those guys. To give up on a talent like Buie just makes me think maybe they have something else up their sleeve?

Looks like they have a "First come, first served" mentality.

Might be the reason the staff took DY commitment. They might have already knew this news.

Possibly. Everything I've heard put us in good with Buie though. If we're going to miss out on a recruit at a position, I want it to be at RB.

Who would you rather have, Buie or Young? And pretend that Young isn't from Knoxville.

I'd rather have Buie, & I think I said it over in the DY thread. Their is no question that Buie is better than DY, I'm just getting tired of everyone bashing Young.

So, UT has a shot with an athlete that everyone clearly prefers over the local guy, but we take a commit from the local guy instead...and you can't see why people are a little pissed?

Those people were pissed before DY got a offer, I'd rather have Buie over DY anyday of the week but people bashing DY for it are pathetic. Bash the staff not him.

Apparently the staff feels like they're on the same level. And Rivals is the only site who has Buie rated worth a crap. He is the #39 RB on ESPN and the #43 RB on Scout.

Buie.

But it's closer in my mind than it was. I didn't realize Young was so much faster than Buie.

I don't have any problem with the DY commitment. In fact, I'm glad we picked him up, and I fully trust that the staff knows what they're doing, but could you expand upon "so much faster than Buie."?

These figures came from that national track website that somebody posted last week. These are 100m times.

Devrin Young- 10.70
Andrew Buie- 11.39

That is a huge difference.

Yes it is. That suggests at least .2 better in a 40 if not more.

I believe Young's 100 meter was pretty scorching in comparison to some of the other highly rated recruits but I can't remember where I saw it.
