'11 FL RB Andrew Buie

These figures came from that national track website that somebody posted last week. These are 100m times.

Devrin Young- 10.70
Andrew Buie- 11.39

That is a huge difference.
And LV comes through for me before I can complete my post. :salute:

I believe Young's 100 meter was pretty scorching in comparison to some of the other highly rated recruits but I can't remember where I saw it.

Here's him compared to some other guys.

Derek King- 10.68
Tino Thomas- 10.68
Devrin Young- 10.70
Tacoi Sumler- 10.80
Brian Randolph- 10.84
Hakeem Flowers- 10.92
Isaiah Crowell- 10.93
Andrew Buie- 11.39
Jerron Seymour- 11.61

That Brian Randolph time is one that sticks out to me. He is flying for a Safety.

Randolph is going to be a monster for us I think. Several have said he is in the top five GA prospects. I don't understand the Rivals ranking on him but I think he could have a big jump in rating.

I know the star gazers would go absolutely nuts but what are the chances UT ends up with D King and Thomas to go with Young and Randolph?

But DY doesn't have any potential, just ask thebreakerboy lulz

We are adding some speed with this class :), you know what Vincent Dallas runs LV?

Does anyone happen to know what Zach Rogers ran in the 100m? He was suppose to be one of the fastest in the state in high school.

The fact that we could very well have 3 of those in our secondary in the future is pretty awesome. Not to mention Coleman aint molasses. Love it.

 Terrible.

Evander Wells ran a 10.7 his senior year and that was the fastest time of any track athlete in Georgia that year, so a 10.7 for a junior year time is not terrible, actually it is good enough to get you a scholarship for track at Tennessee. :ermm:

The more telling time for a back though isn't the 100, but more of the shuttle, which Young and Buie probably both excel at.

Young has ran a 4.03 shuttle last year as a junior.

Buie ran a 4.37 shuttle as a sophomore. I haven't seen an updated time from since this one.

I'm not sure how accurate it is, but Rivals shows Buie with a 4.37 shuttle.

And Young's time stacks up quite well against some higher rated prospects right? It's surprising how good he does in the shuttle with those long legs. When he gets in the open field he just puts distance on.

Young has the fastest shuttle time I have ever seen.

That is almost sub 4.0. That is nuts. I'll try to find a faster one, but that the fastest I can ever remember seeing.

I'm not comparing Young to these guys as players by any means, but I can't find a guy who has posted a faster shuttle time than him.

Devrin Young- 4.03
Chris Rainey- 4.03
Brandon James- 4.12
Jeff Demps- 4.15
Jahvid Best- 4.17 (college)
C.J. Spiller- 4.18 (college)
Noel Devine- 4.19

this just ended the debate..

that is sick speed

There have been a handful of players break 4 flat at the combine. Getting anything close to a 4 is moving.

I just can't believe with measurables and stats that he has, he does not have other offers. I know he plays crap competition, but dang, his speed and quickness should be able to plug right into a good system and go.

Ima gonna leave this alone, this thread has already been hijacked by DY

Look like the DY commitment sealed his fate.

That is what I am thinking. The loss of a scholarship given to Young had to come from somewhere. I thought it would come from WR, but if this is true about Buie, it may well be that we are going with one RB this year. Given our current depth at that position, and the overall needs that remain to be filled, that is a logical move.

It is still possible that we will only go with Dallas this year at WR. I have a hunch that Dooley may have something up his recruiting sleeve, and we may get a surprise commitment or two between now and NSD.

I think Jay was referring to the fact we're not after Buie anymore.
