'11 FL RB Andrew Buie

the staff took Devrin over Buie.

i trust the staff.

Im not like you, I cant blindly put trust in someone til they earn it.

I think they tucked their tail between their legs and took the easy "bird in the hand..." route on this one.

I hope it doesnt backfire on us.

I don't know what to think. But I'll put my trust in the staff and hope they're right.

are u guys talkin programs or recruting bases?

cus I dont think we are talking about the same thing

Bro, Im not talkin about playing for state titles, Im talkin about equivalent excellent talent on the field.

to give u an example, Dr. Phillips has had the most DI talent in Central Florida for 2 yrs now, but they havent been the best team...

winning State titles and having the most collegiate talent arent one in the same

Oh okay my bad. I agree West & Middle TN have more D1 prospects.

This I don't understand, sounds like we've quit recruiting him for him to go cold all of the sudden. Unless the staff thinks they have a decent shot at Crowell or Blakely?

Blakely is almost certainly going to Auburn. Buie is their backup plan if Blakely ends up at Florida- which could happen if Bellamy sticks with Clemson.

:dunno:
would you consider me a negavol or anything like that?

I'd like to think Im fairly objective and level headed and supportive. I dont feel like this move was the right move. Havent felt that way about alot of moves by this staff, I can only think of one other instance (TE Power )

we (VN) all arent always going to agree but the staff has alot to prove on many levels.

where are the better athletes? what area has more BCS prospects yr in & yr out? Memphis or Knoxville? Im just curious ...

Team success isnt what Im speaking on and you know it, Im talkin about lining up athlete for athlete. there isnt a single kid on Devrin Young Hilight films who sticks out. I havent seen em, have you? let me know.

Maclin sure had sack against us as a freshman for LSU.

I try to but I just don't know about this one. They seemed to be in really good shape with Buie and Seymour.

The only thing I can think of is Buie and Seymour seem more like traditional RB's (albeit small and speedy) and Young seems like he can fit into a do it all role right away.

no, you're not a negavol and one of the best posters here. i just thought it was strong to say they tucked their tails from USCjr and Ole Miss.

I would've taken Buie over Young, but Young does have a big speed and quickness advantage over both of them.

Perhaps they think they have a better shot at a Blue Chipper at a position of need. Perhaps there's MORE to it than the staff liking Young over Buie. Ever think of that?

Nah, LOVE your passion man!!! And you seem knowledgeable. I for one can't stand the " go cheer for another team" clan. I understand your concerns, I've had them with SEVERAL recruits in this class. I wasn't to crazy about the Juda Parker thing, still don't like it. But I've seen Devrin play for years. REGARDLESS his comp, you can just tell he was born to do this. I've watched all the local guys who were SUPPOSED to be this and that. In reality most were good lower lever D-1 prospects, yet the locals thought they were NFL bound, LOL. Is Devrin better than Buie? Perhaps not. Is he Major D-1? You bet your arse he is! He is a good get and a good fit for the Vols, IMO.
