'11 MI RB Justice Hayes

No matter what all the armchair QB's on here say Young is not going anywhere. The coaches could care less that DY is a 3 star on rivals. DY is extremely fast, quick, and elusive. Just because he is short doesn't mean he won't be a great football player for UT.

Have you guys ever heard of Brandon James, Dexter McCluster, or Danny Woodhead?

Would you guys rather have Bryce Brown, Ahmad Paige, or Chris Donald than Danny Woodhead?

We have our speed back. We need big uglies. Sorry Hayes you had your chance to sign with us, you chose not to. See Ya

"Hey Justice, whatcha doin' this weekend? After eatin' some turkey and dressin' with your family, why don't ya come down to Knoxville and watch us kick the a$$ end out of Kentucky. Sound good?"

-Coach Baggett

For the record, coffee hurts when shot out the nose from laughing. Awesome stuff!!!

have to say i'm kinda surprised here... he's not the playmaker we need. i would prefer bigelow over any of them. we already have smith and young and it would be nice to have a playmaking RB. imo in order to be great you need to take a risk at some point. in this case it would be with bigelow and his knee.

If you can watch this video and tell me Justice Hayes is better than Devrin Young.....
His level of competition is not that great, might not be ANY better than Young's. His breakaway speed, oh well he really doesn't have any. He gets ran down by slow guys in this video, won't run away from ANYONE in the SEC. It takes him a side hop or 3 side steps to make a lateral cut that Young will make in his sleep. Young's lateral movement, acceleration, top end speed, and vision are all better than Justice Hayes'. Don't let the 4* rating fool you. His size is the only thing he has on young, his comp isn't really even better. Hayes can stay up North and play for Notre Shame for all I care. Can't bump Young for Hayes, LOL. Now Bellamy or Bigelow, them dudes are AWESOME!!!! There are SEVERAL players we could cut for them dudes.

Hypothetically in this situation what should our coaching staff do?

Take the best two players regardless of what Rivals or Scout or other coaching staffs think. Dooley's and UT's success depends on him finding talented guys who have the right attitude and work ethic to reach their potential... not winning mythical recruiting championships.

Only a few people (who I would like to take a gratuitous shot at here but won't) care that Poole or Moore were lowly 3* players out of HS. Did anyone care Saturday that Gerald Wms was rated anywhere from 2*to 4* in his serpentine route to UT or that he was written off and mocked by many here? Askew's 4* and Donald's 5* rankings are doing UT absolutely no good right now.

We should probably tell Arnett to take a hike too, you know, with the crappy competition he plays.

Oh piss, another Devrin Young argument, how original. Can we please, please keep all the Devrin Young argument in Devrin Young's thread? Every freaking RB recruit has a crapload of DY posts in it, mostly by the same posters in every thread. WE GET THE FREAKING POINT, YOU DON'T LIKE DEVRIN YOUNG. Dear lord, pass the Tylenol.

Yeah, forget the fact that Moore had offers from Florida, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas A&M, etc. And Poole had Auburn, Clemson, GTech and South Carolina offers.

Please tell me this is a joke.

To touch on that, to me Bigelow looks like a 5*, JMHO. Dude is the truth, must be the knees. To me, Hayes isn't any more of a RB than Devrin Young. He's not as good, the tape doesn't lie. Yet Hayes is a 4*, must be the size. They both run a spread, both play similar comp.

You know nothing about Michigan High School Football if you say Grand Blanc doesn't play against anyone good. Their league the KLAA is one of the strongest in the state. One team in their league didn't make the playoffs. In the playoffs Grand Blanc defeated Clarkston who is one of Michigan's Powerhouses year in and year out and then lost to Lake Orion who is playing for a State Championship this week and played for one last week. Please do some research before you make comments like that. They play quality teams in Canton, Howell, Davison, and Milford in their conference.

I would take Hayes if he commits and if Bigelow decides to commit I take it then drop Smith but only if I got both of these guys. DY is out of the question just because he will be our punt returner.

Look at the video of Hayes and tell me the difference in his comp and DY's. There is none. Arnett is a COMPLETELY different player/ arguement than Hayes. Arnett has better feet, better hips, overall better skillset than Hayes even though they play different positions, you can see it. The only reason I mentioned the comp is because that was a MAJOR argument against Young. I just think we should move in another direction OVERALL than to spin our wheels with Hayes. And I gave you SEVERAL LEGIT reasons why. You just threw out some Arnett stuff that really made 0 sense, IMO. I would rather keep DY and Smith, and if we land Bellamy/Bigelo fabulous. If not, no reason to take a back with Big-10 speed.

Being that I'm from Ohio, I'm not that intimidated by Michigan football. You have your opinion, I have mine. Don't let it ruin your morning. And I didn't say they did not play anyone tough. But I can ASSURE you that Michigan HS football is MUCH better in the eyes of a Michigan native than folks outside of the state.

Right, there is no one else capable of doing the job of returning punts.

So? You can try to spin this anyway you want. Fact is the kid either has the talent or he doesn't. The coaching staff seems willing to risk their jobs on the belief that he does.

But if it will help you sleep...

Justin Blackmon was a 5.6 3* with offers from OSU, Colorado, Mizzou, and Northern Iowa.

Kendall Hunter was a 5.6 3* with offers from OSU, Baylor, TCU, Purdue, KU, and ISU

Roy Helu was a 5.5 3* with offers from Neb, BYU, Cal, and Oregon

Kenjon Barner who looked pretty good vs UT was a 5.6 3* with offers from Ore, ASU, and UTEP

Jeff Maehl who leads Oregon in receiving was a 5.5 3* with offers from no one but Ore

Titus Young was a 5.6 3* with offers from BSU, Nevada, Wazzou, and UW

Randall Cobb was a 5.5 3* with offers from UK and MTSU before Fulmer noticed him late and offered.

The point is these coaches "recruited with their eyes and not their ears" and found guys could play. These guys will help win championships, play at the highest levels of competition, or in Cobb's case garner SEC honors.

I don't know what DY will do. But the coaches apparently believe in him.
