'11 MI RB Justice Hayes

So? You can try to spin this anyway you want. Fact is the kid either has the talent or he doesn't. The coaching staff seems willing to risk their jobs on the belief that he does.

But if it will help you sleep...

Justin Blackmon was a 5.6 3* with offers from OSU, Colorado, Mizzou, and Northern Iowa.

Kendall Hunter was a 5.6 3* with offers from OSU, Baylor, TCU, Purdue, KU, and ISU

Roy Helu was a 5.5 3* with offers from Neb, BYU, Cal, and Oregon

Kenjon Barner who looked pretty good vs UT was a 5.6 3* with offers from Ore, ASU, and UTEP

Jeff Maehl who leads Oregon in receiving was a 5.5 3* with offers from no one but Ore

Titus Young was a 5.6 3* with offers from BSU, Nevada, Wazzou, and UW

Randall Cobb was a 5.5 3* with offers from UK and MTSU before Fulmer noticed him late and offered.

The point is these coaches "recruited with their eyes and not their ears" and found guys could play. These guys will help win championships, play at the highest levels of competition, or in Cobb's case garner SEC honors.

I don't know what DY will do. But the coaches apparently believe in him.

I'm not spinning anything wonderboy, I'm telling you that those two "lowly three stars" you mentioned had pretty outstanding offer lists.

Have you seen any??????

My sentiments exactly. Even though we are thin on talent, you would think we could find one guy on the team who could at least keep the ball off the ground. If Young just keeps the ball off the ground he is worth a scholarship.

While I kind of agree with you, it grinds my gears to think with all the complaints about depth that we are spending a scholarship on a special teamer.

I would take Hayes if he commits and if Bigelow decides to commit I take it then drop Smith but only if I got both of these guys. DY is out of the question just because he will be our punt returner.

you got to be kidding me. you watched the film on this guy and say drop smith for him? this guy does not show anything special in his highlight except for the ability to get run down. i hope we can find someone better than him.

Is this guy better than Bigelow? (who it seems put us in his top 2 teams). If hayes were to commit before bigelow and he still wanted to come here do we take them both?

Smith and Hayes have about the same speed

I have seen this said a few times, if ya'll are talking about that youtube video, you are aware that that is his Junior film right?

The reason I suggested dropping Smith is because we all ready haveRajion Neal on the roster and he is a freshman.

I would not drop Smith. You never have enough good running backs and Smith is a good running back. Remember, it takes time to rebuild a team and you take good players when they are available.

this guy is no where close to bigelow. do we really need a slower version of oku? no

I agree. I say we don't drop anyone for this dude. He kinda reminds me of OKU out of HS. Not that that's a bad thing, but we need someone who can house it at any given point and any given time IMO. I don't see this guy doing that, I don't care what he's ranked. I also don't see him carrying it 20+ times per game in the SEC.

INSANE!! I was commenting on your previous post and saying he reminded me of OKU. Post it, then see you compared him to Oku. We think alike. The question now, is if that's good or bad? That question might be better off not answered, LOL.

So my question to all of the recruiting guru's is, Bigelow of hayes? Of course we all know about the injury to Bigelow, but I see Hayes being Oku 2.0. Just my opinion. I feel like we have got to keep Tom Smith he has gave us the respect to keep his commitment and that has to mean something. Thanks.

To touch on that, to me Bigelow looks like a 5*, JMHO. Dude is the truth, must be the knees. To me, Hayes isn't any more of a RB than Devrin Young. He's not as good, the tape doesn't lie. Yet Hayes is a 4*, must be the size. They both run a spread, both play similar comp.

Look at the offer lists. Hell, Young doesn't even have a list. He has 1 offer.

Bigelow. That being said, if Hayes wants to commit you don't think twice about accepting it.

To the people who may not want Hayes or think he isn't any better than Devrin Young (LOL), need to re-think their opinions.

The argument being made was that if we get Hayes and Bigelow/Bellamy would we ask DY to grayshirt or walk. If we did get Hayes and Bigelow/Bellamy it only makes sense to ask DY to grayshirt. In that situation Bellamy/Bigelow are just as capable of returning punts and kickoffs as DY. Bellamy/Bigelow are better because they would have a bigger impact on offense by being our CJ Spiller and DY wouldn't have that same impact. I think we take Hayes becuase he could be a very good very down back. Next year we will have Poole and Neal who are the only proven legit backs on the team, so if add Hayes and Smith it's good competition. Bellamy/Bigelow I don't really see as a running back since they would used in many different ways. If we don't get either Bellamy/Bigelow we keep DY.
