Tennessee and South Carolina were thought to be the only schools in contention for the services of the 5'11, 192lb safety from J.L. Mann high school, but a recent status by him on facebook has him choosing between LSU, UT, SC, and OU. Will he follow through by choosing one of his leaders, or will he shock the recruiting world by choosing LSU or OU? The much anticipated answer will be coming on the afternoon of August 15th.
Recently, I was able to interview Pat, in hope of receiving even a small piece of the puzzle to determine his selection.
You're making your decision soon. What are some of the factors that affected your decision?
Trust and the ability of the coaches to make me a great person, player, and man.
I've heard a rumor that you have been recruiting players to join you at UT. Is this true, or simply a rumor?
To which he replied with a short statement, Rumor.
After you announcement, will you stick with the school you committed to, or will you continue to look around at your other options?
Stick. It's called a commitment. I'm committed to them just like their committed to me.
What has the whole recruiting process been like for you?
Fun and stressful, A typical response.
If you could play with 3 other prospects, who would they be?
Jadeveon Clowney, James Wilder, and Avery Walls.
After my short interview, I dug around and found a few interesting comments on his formspring. Although they shouldn't be taken too seriously, it is interesting to see what he had to say about his recruitment.
What's your favorite joke?
the ones coach Dooley tells me
Does the school you're committing to on the 15th already know or do they have to tune in to find out as well?
they know
So what are you going to do when you figure out you suck at recruiting and can't help bring in guys like Wright, Townsend, etc...? Are you just going to decommit and come to a real school like USC?
those may be already committed you don't know and im not going to USC
Nobody knows what August 15th holds for Pat, but when all is said and done, his team got themselves a phenomenal safety.
