'12 GA RB Imani Cross (Nebraska Commit)

I think his speed is just fine for a 220pd back. While it's great to have that home run threat...alot of times a big back who has enough burst to get to the edge and pound out 8-10 yard runs will do the job just fine. We will take 2 backs in this class....let the other spot go to a speed back.

I'm just not that big on getting Kimbrow. I know a lot of people are having man love for the guy, but his film is average at best. I guess I need to see him play live to appreciate him.

Someone refresh my memory on the kid we got some years back from Louisiana that was supposed to be the all world speed guy that we always wanted at Tennessee; He was about 5'9" 165 pounds with world class speed. He was so great I don't remember his name.

So? We can only have 85 on scholarship.

Exactly what Hens said, the roster will be adjusted accordingly.

Ex.

Ole Miss signed 29 if wouldve stopped at the "85 limit" they wouldve stopped them at 14.

Alabama signed 23. The "85 limit" wouldve stopped them at 13.

...the same goes for Arkansas, South Carolina, Miss State . So yes we will sign the max allowed. Especially since we aren't up to full roster yet.

We passed on Bellamy? You know this how...

Passed might not be the right word, but apparently we weren't "all in" on trying to get him. And I'm no insider or anything, it was in a thread a couple days after NSD. I think Hubbs said something about it.

Some of the comments on this thread boggle the mind. Cross has very good size-6'1" 225lbs and good speed-4.5. He's a hard, physical runner, w/ good field vision, and elusiveness.

A RB tandem of Cross & Gray (5'11" 195 4.4-40, Scout 5*) and (Ath) B Kimbrow would be HUGE commits for Tennessee's 2012 class!! IMO.

It was a take it or leave it deal.

Dooley would have taken him had he committed, but his heart wasn't broken when Bellamy decided to go elsewhere.

We have about 82 on scholarship now.

So you think that CDD will boot out about a dozen underclassmen (11 seniors will be gone anyway) to make room for 25 enrollees in 2012? And not put any walk-ons on scholly? (maybe D. Williams, A. Bullard, J. Ayres, A. Taylor, K. Millsap, M. Carillon, B. Rutherford?)

IMO Dooley's not that kinda guy, but I guess we'll see next year.

Walk-ons generally only get put on scholly if there are some left over. There are exceptions though, hard not to put a starter on scholarship. Take a look at the roster, there are dozens of walk-ons. I'd be surprised if we don't sign 20 plus next year.

I really like this Cross kid. I think he can possibly be a part of the 20-22 UT signs this class.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Bullard get a scholly.

Maybe you're not remembering Jaquori Williams.
