'12 GA WR Charlie Hegedus

Hegedus........say some underclassmen guy looked better than Hegedus.

You are talking about Juwan Dickey. When they double cover Hegedus, Juwan is Lassiter's top target. Juwan has great moves, but doesn't have Hegedus's speed and leaping ability (VARSITY VS MCEACHERN PLAYOFF #2 - Lassiter Football Photos) "Notice how far above the defender he is in that photo." Few have that speed and vertical leap. He is the fastest guy on the team and won the region 100m sprint in track. Juwan is a Junior that wants to play for Alabama. The game you are talking about was opener against Brookwood. Juwan did have a great game, but some of the reason was that the coverage was concentrating on defending against Hegedus. People like the great moves after the catch, and Juwan has some of the best. Hegedus creates separation with speed and good pass routes, then has great hands which let him catch balls that most could not. Lassiter also has a couple of other receivers that have done a great job this season. Hegedus hasn't gotten his stats by being the only receiver on their team.

You are talking about Juwan Dickey. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH

Don't be hatin' on Greg. He's all vol but has a special interest in Charlie. If you were a former player with a relative getting D1 offers, you'd wAnt him in orange too.

This is a WR corps right here. Those are straight playmakers. All of them can be No.1 or No.2s in the passing game. And I'm not talking about just solid guys you don't worry about. Especially the pocket rocket Howard. He'll come here and wreck shop in the slot. Can't wait to unleash our WRs on the Gators next year in Neyland.

Not hating bro; just the facts.. Things have a way of working out for the best....I'm sure his 4.4 forty will have a home... I just don't believe he will be VFL...JMO

Greg Phillips, have you ever been hit with water balloons at Gibbs Hall? If you have " I found the evidence!"
If you have, sorry I missed you at the Georgia game.

Blain, is this you? Actually, the balloon hit right at my feet. McCartney said he saw you at the UGA game and gave me grief for not being there. He said you still insist those water balloons in your hand were just coincidence (stretching credibility don't you think?) LOL...I am glad I didn't hit you....but you will never know how close I was. Luckily my sense of humor cut through my anger. That was a tough night for me. I had just been taken to jail for beating up two guys in the middle of an intersection in Gatlinburg after they yelled stuff at me at the stop light. The look on your face as you said "I found the evidence" while holding those balloons in your hand will always be etched in my mind.

Your fellow lineman,
Greg

Yeah it's me! So good to hear from you! Last time I saw you was at the Peach bowl against Iowa. I have told the entire story on multiple occasions! I can still see Robert Malone standing in the corner! That was the first thing that popped into my mind was that I found the evidence!

Oh and you did hit me In the chest!

McCartney had lunch with John Behrens. John claimed it was Kevin Davis that threw the water balloon out the window at me. Can you confirm? After all these years, seems like someone would come clean about it. LOL..I promise I won't take a dump in their helmet like I did to Jimmy Duvall. Paybacks are hell, but there are certainly time limits.

You got him! I was actually returning from the store from buying more balloons. They had all ran back to thier rooms by the time you got to the 4th floor. How's Bernard King doing? Seen him lately? LOL

Yep, it's good to catch up when you haven't seen each other in years. We were all VFL before there was an official VFL!

I think there is a bonding process that takes place between men that go through hard times together. Offensive lineman especially created a close bond between each other.

Greg, do you have any old game tapes? I didn't have any from HS or UT. I came home from work months ago and my wife and kids were in the den and pointed to the tv and asked if I recognized this, it was the 1976 GT game. I got tears in my eyes, it was the BEST Fathers Day present I've ever gotten! There is a company called FootballVideos.com that you can purchase game tapes. It's a breakdown video of all offense, defense and special teams.

You got that right! It's tougher in the pits than most will ever know! but I wouldn't trade it for the world!

In this same context, I think there are intangibles that make a football player successful. My signing class had around 40 players. Only around 15 of us survived 4 years. Hegedus has that kind of heart.

Just looked it up....Cool...$110 is a bit to pay for bragging rights. I didn't see the 1976 Clemson game. I'd pay for that one. My wife yelled at me one day and they had a flashback to old games. I pulled out on a quickscreen and Stanley Morgan was on my hip. The cornerback and safety were bunched together and I took them both out. Stanley broke off the block and went for a TD. I'd pay for a copy of that one. Offensive linemen aren't fast enough to run plays like that these days.

My boys were both sitting there grading their daddy out, becaused I coached them both. But I knew there was a block coming on a GT lb, where I turned him a flip. I jump out of my chair and yelled deal with your daddy now! They've showed it to all their friends, very special to me.
