Only have a week to try and sway him back to the bright orange light. If he's not taking the coaches' calls, chances are he won't accept a visit. Best hope at this point is that D. Jacobs is still solid to us and will try to re-recruit Autry for us. If he can reopen the door for the coaches, we might have a shot, otherwise, I'd say we're done.

VN,
Let me start by saying that I bleed orange and have since birth. I admit I was wrong saying Autry was a Vol lock. Obviously, no kid is a lock until the papers are in. When LT has been telling me for the past two months that Autry is "all Vol," I believe him. I felt confident in what LT (and others) told me about Autry. Nobody had any doubts. So, I relayed that information to VN with confidence, too much confidence. Now I have egg on my face. I've learned my lesson and will be more conservative with the information I post.
Today, I, along with many others in the know, were all shocked when news came out that Autry committed to MSU. The staff found out about this after it was first reported by Scout. There are a lot of people at UT very suspicious about the commitment.
For those questioning whether I make stuff up or get all my information from TOS, follow the timeline of comments today regarding Autry's commitment and the shock to the staff from me (above), Fortenberry, SBV, and Skeeter. All very consistent.
Regardless of whether you love me or hate me, there's no need to argue about me. All it does is clutter the board and detracts from the integrity of the recruiting forum. Let's just stick to talking about recruiting and leave the e-cred debates alone.
Go Vols!!!
If you set up expectations on other men then you set yourself up for disappointment.
We didn't lose Autry because we didn't have Autry yet.
No more than Luc, Wright, Dawson, Jernigan but we didn't have Da'Rick, Hunter, Maggitt or JJ either, until the end.
Don't sh-t a brick so damn fast... Many good or better things will happen.
If we were to get McCullers (long shot I know but better today than yesterday) and in fact lose out on Autry in the end we would be btter off. Yes, we would.
We could lose somebody who HAS committed or maybe keep those but will probably get another surprise like both of the last 2 years. Anyway...........
When it sinks in to Autry that he committed to Vietnam, MS
he still may yet change his mind again. ???
We've "had" Autry for a long time. This commitment is a "statement" he is making to show his anger at something or another. Depending on how stubborn he is and how the staff wants to handle this, he may switch to Tennessee. If $$$$ is involved, well, bye.

I hope this still takes place
Same here. Of course, on signing day if McCullers joins Tennessee, and we somehow land Sentimore and steal Hamilton (loooooooong shot, yes, I know... thanks) then everyone will say "Autry who?"
The point is, enjoy the wild ride that is the December to February recruiting push.
Who knows why he went to MSU.
But to just come on here and say they offered money is bull****.
