'12 TN ATH Will Redmond (MSU verbal commit)

Really really hope we get Redmond.

Maybe if he commits soon, Kimbrow will follow.

Kimbrow doesn't sound very interested. Guess that's why were offering other similar type backs. Like someone posted the other day the coach's wont lose sleep over Kimbrow.

Kimbrow will go to a spread O if he does not come to TN.

Your probably right. Just saying I doubt he's a Vol. If he wasn't from TNmost on here wouldn't even care about him. Kimbrow is like a hot southern girl..a dime a dozen. Small speed backs are everywhere.

If we got another speedster/receiver, then I would be more OK with missing on Kimbrow. Bracy comes to mind.

“I love [UNC],” Redmond said. “It’s really high up there. When I make my decision, North Carolina is going to be on the top – probably top three out of my top five or six.

“I pretty much already have my list,” Redmond said. “I just want to have it perfect where I know no other school can get into it. So that’s why I’m waiting to tell everybody my top five. But I pretty much already have it in my mind.”

After taking all five of his official visits, Redmond will make a verbal commitment.

Visiting ND on the 23rd, then he'll put out his top 5.

Sounds like he might jump at a Bama offer should he receive one:
"Alabama is a powerhouse," he said. "When people think about Alabama they know it's not going to be an easy game. Alabama has swagger. When you play them you have to bring your A-game.

"They would definitely make a move as one of my top schools if they decide to offer."

Of course getting Redmond leads to Kimbrow.

mlsoft, you are obsessed with this anti-Kimbrow schtick much more than anyone else is pro-Kimbrow. Have you seen this kid? Have you seen his film? His offer list? There is a reason that he has big time offers from Saban, Chizik and dozens of other top schools. He has legit sub 4.4 speed and he's in our state!

People aren't on a Kimbrow kick because he's an instate guy. It's because he's an uber-talented instate guy.

Finally someone gets it. People said it was b/c I was from Memphis.

Redmond will have a better career in college than Kimbrow. Redmond just needed to get his name out there and he's done that. Redmond is a versitile talent much more than Kimbrow. Look at all he does for East. I think Redmond will have the better SR year. He's also improved over the summer. Ex players have been talking to Kimbrow and Redmond about coming to UT. We'll see if they listened.

Better career than Kimbrow? There are a ton of coaches that disagree with you. Not many high on Redmond including the Vols.

Guess we'll have to wait and see. Redmond is gonna be a great DB for someone. He's established his own identity and that will show this fall. Coaches are wrong all the time. Slow to offer, then its to late etc.

I could be wrong...but what I see on film is this...Kimbrow is a speed guy...just speed, speed, speed...Redmond looks like a pure football player with the athleticism to back it up...like if you could put 3in and 100lbs on him he'd be a great DT...

I like Redmond alot...I hope we can land him

It doesn't matter who's high on him or not. My point is he'll have a better college career than Kimbrow. Coaches and scouts were high on Donald, and he's playing for Livingroom State now.

That^^^. Running a 4.3 only guarantees a track career.

I think he will have a better career as well.

I have heard more than one well respected HS coach in the area who have seen their fair share of both, express similar opinions.

Kinda funny how a couple months ago everyone was wondering if Redmond would even get an offer as that would supposedly get us Kimbrow. Now everyone thinks Redmond is the better player.

Redmond was a unknown to a lot of folks outside of Memphis and even to some in Memphis.

I think he will have a better career bc he will be on the field more as a WR/DB and kick returner vs. Kimbrow as a situational back and kick returner.

I think that Redmond is the better return man of the two. Kimbrow may have a slight edge in top end speed, but I think Redmond has better shiftiness along with plenty of enough speed.
