'12 TN DT Tevin Bryson

Based on what?

He did not attend any camps that anyone knows of, especially national camps. That alone will cost a kid a star, they like to show love to kids who come to their camps.

Secondly he plays horrible competition.

So really the only thing you can go off of is what he shows ability wise on tape. If anything I am shocked hes even a 3 star on one of the sites.

Heck the kid could be horribly weak, not saying he is but his measurables have not been recorded by anyone other than his coaches.

you win you win you win.

One could argue the fact that he hasn't even been ranked for months and just yesterday he was and was given a high 3* from 247. I for one really like the intensity he plays with. He is raw but IMO he has a very high ceiling.

Carlos Younger who runs TN Varsity said that this kid does play bad comp, but he is very strong and extremely athletic. He also said he also has a great motor.

again why he is underrated. we can't expect him to go to florida and play 5AAAA talent, but at this point given what has transpired with the juco day of wednesday, we have to take some chances, the guy can be coached, montori hughes was the same way, he just didnt care.

Motor, that is the one thing you can not teach kids. Hughes was our most talented lineman, but he never wanted to put the work in to become great.

Montori Hughes played against the best talent in Tennessee. Very underrated prospect. He was dominate.

They asked Carlos to compare him to Hughes and he said that Montori was lazy and didn't seem to care about mixing it up at times. He said that Bryson is not like that.

"He plays horrible competition" is exactly what Tennessee said about the kid from Bruceston "Hollow Rock" that was all world for Ole Miss and now doing wonders in the NFL. He wasn't good enough for Tennessee but he is all pro now. I wished I could think of his name but you know who I am talking about. We better start looking at these smaller state schools because the so called big ones sure aren't helping us any. He was a linebacker. Patrick something.

Not the same really. Patrick Willis is who you are talking about and his competition was not what hurt him. Fulmer thought he was too small to play LB and too big to play Safety.

I am not knocking Bryson, he has the size and decent enough technique to be a good player. I was just arguing the fact of him being underrated. He has done nothing to deserve any kind of ranking per the sites.

Right now I see him as a fall back option, if he gets an offer then we can assume Korren or Shanks are off the board.

Too small to play lb for Fulmer/Chavis? They were famous for small lb's.

We are overlooking small schools in Tennessee. Lets take my High School for example. Lake County High School has won two single a state championships and was runner up several times. As a matter of fact, Jerry Reese who just happens to be General Manager of the New York Giants quarterbacked one of the state championship teams. He played for UTM. We have others that played in the CFL but was never given a chance. Same goes for Alcoa and South Pittsburg when they were both single A schools. By the way, for the poster who said all the good schools were in Knoxville and Memphis, you are dead wrong. Milan and Humboldt can compete with anyone you have in the state almost any year. Especially Milan down through the years.

The problem with Willis was that UT had fallen into a bad habit in recruiting. Relying on ranking as opposed to personal evaluation. UT had a higher rated in-state player committed. (5-star) Of course he washed out. Woody McCorvey about had a fit over Fulmer chosing to sign Brandon Jeffries (5 star) over McNeil who went to Auburn and got All-American and NFL. Jeffries washed out his first year. But he was the higher ranked player. UT was at their peak and was able to pick and choose, and the reality was that Fulmer got lazy, and in some cases ignored his assistants evaluations over rankings.

if Bryson can just simply take up space and blockers, he will be useful.

does anyone know how Carson's conditioning came along during practices?

yeah you cant control who you play against you just have to do the best against whoever you see on the field. with that being said if by some chance we do pursue him i would hope that he put up some big time numbers, anyone have any info on his stats? SIAP dont feel like wading through 7 pages when theres other stuff to read elsewhere.

There are only 3 pages on this young man...GBO!
