'12 TN DT Tevin Bryson

Lance Thompson is going to go watch Bryson in a basketball game in early January. Expect him to get an offer then.

Sorry if this is old news, I didn't feel like reading through the previous posts in this "Tough Guy" thread.

this is my last post concerning your trolling antics abb4. Stupidity is trying to act like you know more about football than you do. You probably sitting around with your play station and jergens lotion hoping for validity with your stupid/ignorance claims, all the while, hoping that they will vindicate your internet tough man attitude.

Furthermore, i read the particular clip your referring to about clt contacting him by phone and maybe going to see the kid play basketball. I was implying that it sounded like he was a fall back option from that article and may not be taken seriously until we miss out on anther 2-3 dt's.

However, there may be other options that are a more legitimate talent behind the scenes that we don't know about, but hopefully not another project like greg clark. Was my opinion and still my opinion and there is nothing ignorant about that post "chief" numbnuts. Merry christmas and quit playing with yourself.:)

boom.

He is def a work in progress, but will be a M. hughes type player, severly underrated, powerful, dominant, and seems to have a better work ethic than him so thats a positive.

if they are debating then they must think that we have a leg. shot at Shanks, Kirven, or another DT on "their" board that we don't know about. IMO thats a good thing. Bryson will be a good player, but if we are in better shape with Shanks then I'd rather have him for 4 years.

Very true but I'd hate to lose this guy to someone else because we were Gabe Wrighted by Shanks or Kirven

Shanks is really interesting, I think we are not finished with him. Kirven will more than likely end up at VT, but Shanks with McCullers would be a huge pickup. I still think Bryson will end up a Vol somehow.

I want McCullers, Shanks, and Bryson. I would be happy with these guys to go with O'Brien, Trent Taylor, and Sentimore. Would be a great haul if you ask me.

I agree and have said that it would be great if we pulled McCullers (probable), one of Kirven, Tomlinson, or Shanks (possible), and Bryson (probable, if offered). My only problem is with Bryson -- his film looks good, but his competition may be really poor which makes it hard to judge. I know little to nothing about HS ball in that neck of the woods.

Since Bryson is in-state, I would say that maybe the coaches can tell him to come to TN and be prepared to either greyshirt or be a preferred walk-on. If we miss on Shanks or Kirven and have a spot available still on signing day, then we will sign him with this class. Maybe the coaches can persuade him that this is the only big-time program that is looking at him and if he has to greyshirt or walk-on, then he can earn his scholly the following year. Does anyone think that he would consider doing this to be a part of Tennessee football, which he apparently loves? He won't play anyways next year most likely, and with such a small senior class again next year, I am guessing that we don't sign a full class in 2013 and would have room for him if he greyshirted this year. Thoughts

Passing on players like Bryson is the reason we are in our current DT situation. Unless he's not on course for qualifying then he's a must take, and I don't even see how it's debatable...A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush at this point.

Looks like he will qualify NCAA wise but at the bare minimum unless he really improves his test score which is certainly possible. It has been mentioned that getting him admitted might be questionable if our leader from the sunshine state gets his way.

This is the reason for the debate on the offer in my opinion.
